Please check opening hours before going there. When closed, we were disappointed as there is nothing really to see. Plaques said it us open, but wasn't.

Nice and quiet. Beautiful architecture. Just in the centre of this small and pretty city. Very close to it are a lot of small and friendly restaurants. The city hall is ancient. Also you can get to the river threw the park.

Although this cathedral is a recent (post WW2) it is faithful to its ancient roots, and the nave architecture in particular is worth seeing. The museum, though is worth allowing a couple of hours for if you have any interest in ancient manuscripts and scriptoria,...More

Beautiful church with a very interesting history, from Willibrord to the second world war. A place to pray, be silent and meet God.

Church is okay, not special. Abbey museum didn’t look interesting so we skipped it. Orangerie looks nice, but it’s just an enclosed garden. All in all a bit disappointing.

The towers of the basilique in Roman style dominate the city. The church built by St. Willibrord in about 800, burnt down in 1016. The reconstruction was finished in 1031. After the French Revolution it became a factory of ceramic pottery. Restauration started in 1861,...More

The basilika is normally open to public but during funerals, weddings it is recommended not to enter in order not to disturb the ceremony. It's worth going for a visit and have a look at the Crypta where the coffin of Willibrordus is standing.

The abbey itself is nice, with the tomb of Saint Willibrord to see in the crypt. The Abbey museum next door, which covered the history of the saint, the abbey, and especially the medieval books created in the abbey scriptorium was the best part.
