Visible from far and wide yet so close you could almost touch it, the emblem of Liechtenstein towers over Vaduz on a rock terrace which can be reached along a romantic footpath. The castle was first built some 700 years ago. Since 1712 it has been in the possession of the Prince of Liechtenstein. Furthermore, since 1938 it has been the residence of the prince’s family, so it is not open to the public. The 12th century keep and the structures on the east side are the oldest parts of the castle.

Lovely Castle

A lovely castle, seen only from the outside, nevertheless, it brings back childhood memories of Fairy tales. Good for photographs. Lovely for people who come from countries that... read more

Ranked #1 on here for things to do in Vaduz but all you could do is see from outside. Apparently the Prince lives here and doesnt appreciate us muddling through his private residence which is unfortunate because looks to be a fabulous place. Very scenic view over the valley so if you have a car well worth the 10 minute... More

well it's closed to visitor but you still can see it's charm from outside, either you hike up or look for it from the city center, with all the green around it.

The Castle is towards the top of the mountain and is a good hike to get up. The views of they city along the way are worth the trek. The castle itself is closed to the public and you can only see the outside. If you are in Vaduz, then you should certainly visit but this is not a grand... More

A day in Vaduz would be incomplete without a walk to the castle. It is a decent climb informed by many helpful fact sheets at convenient intervals. At the top the views were ok but the castle was closed - so don't go if you must enter!

See this from the town centre at night when all lit up and during the day where it imposes over the city. Very different and worth a snap.

Vaduz is like a model city with a population of around 5k. And its simply majestic to walk in such a small city. You get an amazing vibe. Now about the castle, it is a 20 minute walk to the castle but the view feom the top is just amazing. Might not be the best castle in europe. But its... More

This castle is one of the reasons you visit this tiny little country in Europe. As it is situated on top of the mountain, I hiked up and along the way, I managed to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the country. It's lovely and also a great spot to take some nice pictures. Worth a visit.

Nothing great about this, just like an ordinary castle...probably you can see encase you want or want to be interested in these kind of buildings. Else avoid and try to see beauty of nature surround.
