Came for the day here and loved it. We went to the Lara Bay area where the turtles lay their eggs. The beaches are stunning, unspoiled with nothing there so go prepared. No cafe's,. toilets, nothing just miles of coastline. Nice choppy waters which give it that dramatic effect and just generally a nice chilled day, no hassle, no people... More

This is an area of outstanding beauty. The tracks are often hair raising. We would like to come back in a cooler month to visit more extensively in a 4 X 4 (with air con). We saw lots of people whizzing up the tracks on quad bikes which is what we would love to do do when the kids are... More

We are visiting the Akamas Peninsula for free camping for the past 5 years. The place is really amazing. Just watching the stars at night worths the nature life experience. The energy of the place is also fantastic. Akamas' Lara area is more quite since campers (the last two year increase rapidly) prefer the other side of the peninsula. At... More

This trip was great. Going off road and seeing off the sites Cyprus has to often was amazing. We booked this trip though Thompson hotel rep. Picked up from the hotel them taken around the island seeing turtles, caves and animals. There is lunch given at a local bar at the sea. Mid trip is walk into caves, which is... More

We went in search if turtles. Found the nesting sites at Lara beach. Beautiful fine sand and sea to rough for swimmers. Need a 4 by 4 to make the journey as road,is more like a track. Take water as very dry terrain.

We booked this tour through thompsons and it was a hair raising experience. Ask for louis, louis , louis in black beauty--(a 3 litre land rover defender) with the daktari group. He is a complete nutter of a driver but very skilled and you certainly enjoy the experience if you like dicing with danger. In actuality he is very competent,... More

Take the slightly rough track to the protected turtle beach on the Akamas Peninsular and turn left a little while before that famous beach. It is out of the way but, with luck you will come across a fabulous taverns offering drinks and food and fresh fish barbecued over a wood burning amenity. The fire and a great deal of... More

Paid €250 for 2 adults 2 children and was worth every cent! Our driver Andreas picked us up in the jeep from our hotel at 8:30am and we drove quite some way before meeting up with the other jeeps at the top of a cliff. Amazing views into the crystal clear water and the seal caves from there. Next stop... More

This trip cost 200 euro for 2 adults and one child but was worth every cent. This was booked through the Thomas cook rep in our hotel at King Evelthon. We was collected at 8.30am and taken to a cliff area to meet 9 more Jeeps. We then set off to a banana plantation which wasn't included and was lucky... More
