Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is best to visit early in the morning when the tourist streams are not yet there. Unfortunately we were at noon. Absolutely worth a trip, very impressive building with souvenir shops and cafes that invite you for a walk. A nice place to spend your time.

I first visited this building 40 years ago and it was a run down wreck (see the photographs inside the Han) and it is fantastic to see what an excellent job was made of the refurbishment. Also the sympathetic use it has been put to without any of the "tacky" souvenier shops or the like. Local craft people and good cafes. Well worth a visit - if just to get some shade.
This is a good example of what external money could do for the North as I understand it was the UN stepping in to save the building.

Very impressive and picturesque. I am a fan of interior yards, especially when the weather is hot, as I believe they provide plenty of space for outdoor activities. In Buyuk Han, the outdoor space was used for lunch, drinks, and coffee.

This han is an example of how the medieval Turkish people were living in this area. Even though there are many new restaurants, the building is well preserved and give an idea of those times.
In fact all the surrounding area, consisting of the han, the mosque and the bazaar is original and picturesque.
You shoul visit this when in Nicosia

Han is ok to visit. I mean, its a location with few craft workshops, a restaurant on the ground level. TRNC (I think they) invested in rebuilding this. Its vibrat, there are people and you can buy something. We had lunch there, it was not expensive, for two of us 25 euros. Food was nice.

We where visiting Nicosia and went on the Turkish side, walking through the streets to find a place to eat. So we see this big gate and went in, a really nice piazza was there. Overall we had the best lunch ever. The staff was great and we did not wait for the food even though the place was full. The prices are very reasonable, but the taste....yumm yumm

This former karavanserai is now transformed into a shopping place with tiny little stalls that sell handycrafts. A beautifull place to visit and to take nice pictures.
Off course you can also find some explanation on thehistory and some old photographs.

sorry if someones wallet was stolen but I felt very safe there. People were friendly. It's an short easy walk from the border crossing, the building is beautiful. There are many interesting historic buildings on that side of the border , there were maps available at the border, Also good, inexpensive food
