There are few opportunities to experience this ancient ritual. Lasting just over 30 minutes it is absolutely hypnotic to watch and be astounded by the young men who go into the trance. There is good supporting literature distributed explaining the origin and meaning of the...More

We were delighted to catch this daily performance. Lasts about 30 minutes; authentic and well done. Admission fee is worth it.

There was a Whirling Dervish (a dance of the Mevlevi Order of Islam) performance few times a day inside the Bedesten. A ritual more than a performance, the 20 minutes of spinning to the soothing music was almost hypnotic although repetitive.

We paid 25 turkish lira to see this display. Whilst the two men who performed were excellent at spinning one spinner for 6 minutes . Was not particularly impressed.
