Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wednesday 5th October we had just been to visit the impressive Church Agion Anargyron, we were walking back towards the Harbour along Minoos where we spotted this ancient site.

We learnt from the sign that these were Baths, Medieval - Ottoman Period.

All we could see was the outside of the Baths as they were closed up. They did look a bit unsafe with some crumbling brickwork. There was a well weather beaten sign nearby indicating that funding had been received to repair the Baths. We got the impression that the restoration had been shelved for some time.

Still an interesting ancient site along the roadside.

Stumbled across this by accident, just across the road from the mall. Really well maintained ruins, definitely worth a see

These baths are situated on the same general site of the early Christian Basilica called Ayia Kyriaki (Khrysopolitissa).
The baths are about 100 yards away from the church and they have been restored in recent years but are closed.
Not a great deal to say about them except that there is a second set of baths nearby and they are, apparently, open so the visitor can see the internal arrangement of rooms.

There are two baths close together and both are labeled the same. On my map it said one was Medieval and the other one was Ottoman. You could go into the first one and see the rooms. The ceiling was interesting because it had a pattern of holes in the ceiling. The other set of baths were closed but you could look around outside. I assume it will be opened in the future since both baths have just received grants for renovations this year from the EU.

This place is nothing compared to the medieval bathhouse not much further. Its not worth a visit really. Quite a disappointment.
