We are not orthodox but when we entered the Monastery, we feel the tranquility and peace right away. The Monastery had a few visitors while we were there so you could stroll around it, take your time observing this place and its environment. There is a small shop inside selling post cards, local wine and a nice old lady. The... More

We went there on an organised trip with S A Coaches of Paphos and stayed for a little while to walk round. Very quiet and was able to walk freely. There is a shop inside which sells bottles of there wine, very interesting but one hour is plenty of time.

Really nice and chill place especially if you are orthodox. Nice cafe next to the church for chilling and having cypriot coffee.

This monastery is also a great visit and lovely to experience. We were not able to meet the man in charge, but our guide described him as a very special man.

Really pretty monastery up in the hills to the rear of Paphos - we went as part of a organised tour and it was very quiet - it even snowed in December so wrap up if you intend to visit in Winter - nice to wander round for a hour or so

Lovely place to see. Well worth a visit. We stopped here as part of a jeep tour. The Murals / paintings were wonderful.

We were able to visit this monastery as we had a hire car. Unfortunately the museum was closed as it was December. It was interesting to see the church.

The history of the Monastery dates back to 1152 and is really a fascinating story and miracle. Ignatius a hermit during the feast of the Assumption saw a light in the distance to find St. Luke’s icon of the Virgin in a cave which had been lying for four centuries. With his fellow hermits Ignatius built the Monastery. When you... More
