A must see
Aug 2019
I usually visit the dam in August each year and it was great to see the water level much higher than usual this time due to the wet winter. It's beautifully peaceful but slightly spoiled by the litter louts - not too much though. The plaque commemorating the date of opening has been removed, hopefully for refurbishing and perhaps adding an English language version for non-locals.

Paradise lost
Sep 2019 • Couples
We visited Evretou village because my husband's family lived there until the partiton. It's sad to see the houses have been looted and fallen into disrepair. Some of the houses are also under the reservoir that the government built. It is a very beautiful place surrounded by fruit trees but a shame that people leave their rubbish behind.

Lovely views

The 4 of us enjoyed a peaceful walk around part of the reservoir. Our friends told us that due to recent rain some of the footpath was now under water. It was certainly worthwhile taking our binoculars as we saw a variety of birds.

Curious Visit on my way home
Apr 2019 • Couples
We went out to lunch in Steni on my way back from Polis, and out of curiosity I went to visit this Dam to see if it was as full as the local papers were stating and it was full as with all the winter rains we have had which this year had been so unusual.
We were all alone at the Dam as no-one was there so it made it ideal to take some stunning photos of the Dam.
There is a taverna that over looks the Dam however I have not been there so I cannot comment on what it is like.
Being on our own with stunning views and sounds of the birds tweeting was just awesome and very peaceful.
I was very glad we went to see this Dam as it looks now very green after all the rains we have had which no doubt will change as summer sun shine rolls in over the next few months.

overflowing
Apr 2019 • Friends
It's not very often but when this dam is full it is a sight to see. the dam is overflowing. Street vendors had already set up stalls to cater to the crowds. The force of the water leaving the reservoir increased during the day, visitors reported. Phenomenon.

Overflowing
Apr 2019 • Couples
Now is the time to visit the dam. Owing to the many downpours that Cyprus has had over the winter, the dam is overflowing. It makes for great views.

Not so full.

Went out of curiosity to have a look at what lack of rainfall mea s to Cyprus. The dam itself is very impressive, but the lack of water must be worrying for the people of Cyprus.

Stunning scenery

We always go for a long walk around this dam, each year we return to Cyprus. Every year we spot different birds, dragonflies etc... At one end of the dam you will drive to a viewing site and the other end(although a bit of a rocky road) you can walk down to the waters edge, also see a small uninhabited area of stone remain houses.... It can get really hot, so either, go early or take something light to cover you so you don't get burnt... And water.

Was just passing
May 2018 • Family
I was driving up the B6 towards Paphos when I spotted a sign to the Dam. Thought I would be worth a quick look. Well! It’s massive! It’s a stone looking Dam not flat concrete on each side, but the amount of water it holds back is staggering. Well worth a visit but take care when parking up, big drop lightweight fence!!
Please see my picture of the car that’s at the bottom of the overflow channel!
There was not another person or vehicle in sight all the time I was there.
