Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went for a ship ride from the HUngarian site, to Mörbisch and back to Fertőrákos, with Drescher ship company, where staff was very friendly.
The biggest stage on water is in Mörbisch, we decied to go again and see preformance as well, but in 2020 it is not possibly.
Lovely small shacks are on the water, both on the Hungarian and on the Austrian side. in 2017, 10 of the thatched roofed buildings were destroyed by fire, still not rebuilt - not sure if there is no wish for rebuliding or no money for it??
Water is shallow, safe for any kind of watersport activity. As there is no mud, only sand on the lake, the colour is a bit strange for us, who were used to the darker colour of Lake Balaton.
I would definitely recommend to stay in any of the neraby villages and go biking, surfing, sunbathing, fishing, etc.

This lake is located in Austria and Hungary and its north area is only 40km away from Bratislava.
Its ideal for windsurfing, sailing... I would not recommend to swim there, despite I saw a beach aimed for this purpose, as its water is too muddy.
On the other hand there are places where you will spend nice moments with your family, friends or children.
We’ve been to Neusiedl am See waterside and there are restaurants, coffees, pubs, playgrounds and many entertainment zones.
What is in my opinion its best value is the bike road which is built along the lake where you can enjoy the day in a more active manner (either on bike or with rollers).
This is the place where I will certainly return.

Very relaxing place. One of the highlights of Burgenland. A section of the lower part of the lake is in Hungary. Went for a short boat trip across the lake on a bright Sunday morning and there were plenty of watersports around: windsurfing and yachting.

boring, nothing to see or do for people who like the outdoors, some nice driving roads, nice scenery, very few people around, hard to find a cup of coffee...

You can go there any of the 12 months of the year. But I recommend spring and the gorgeous autumn , and I would avoid the overcrowded August..

This lake has great potential to be a wonderful tourist location but it needs investment and belief in getting there. There is a pier with boats so photos with atmosphere still available!

Ideal place in 50 km from Bratislava and Vienna to spend full day with a family. Nice restaurants, kite-surfing school, good to bike, etc. I like this place. Not ideal for swimming, but god for the rest )
