We visited Eagle's Nest with Panorama Tours who are located in Salzburg city near Mirabel Gardens. We were driven there on a bus which also stopped at the Salt Mines to drop off travellers who had booked both tours. The journey up to Eagles Nest itself is quite unique walking through a tunnel in the mountain and then up a... More

We booked through our hotel the Salt Mines Tour. Our lovely tour guide was Walter who was a walking encyclopedia. The information he had was really interesting and he made the tour excellent. We stopped en route for a coffee in a village. We were shown the Eagle Nest (from a distance as it was winter). Then the salt mine... More

Quite excellent and very interesting tour giving insight into the locations used in the filming of this 50+ year old classic film. I went in late January so was able to walk out onto the frozen lake at the back of the palace used for the boat scene; but on the downside, the fountains in Salzburg were under winter covers.... Our guide for this tour was Maxine. She is a very dinamic and nice guide. We did the walking city tour wither her and she recomended us places to eat, to visit and gave us the chance to extend the hour of the tour for free.

We decided to spend Christmas in Salzburg. As we had previous experience of Panorama Tours I booked their Silent Night tour (Christmas Eve) and the Horse Drawn Sleigh Ride (Christmas Day). Both tours were very well organised and we very much enjoyed both. They were the highlight of our 6 week trip to Europe. The Silent Night Tour ended with... More

My spouse grew up with this movie and we were not sorry to have gone in this tour. The tour guide was really into it, which the Australians really seemed to enjoy. For me, in the dead of winter, I enjoyed more seeing the corporate headquarters of Red Bull.

My sister and I took the Sound of Music tour while we were in Salzburg and it was fantastic! Our tour guide Peter and bus driver Otto were amazing and made the experience even better. Peter was very knowledgeable and funny when discussing the movie, the locations, and the real Von Trapp family. Otto made driving a bus through narrow,... More

We did the combination tour of Berchtesgaden and the Salt Mines. It was really beautiful around the mountains and the lakes and then to visit the salt mines was a great and interesting experience. You travel into the mines for some distance and the do a walking and sliding tour. Really interesting is that the mine is still active and... More

Firstly, our bus tour guide was absolutely lovely. He provided interesting information about the area in German and English, and made the effort to speak to everyone on the bus about their trips and offered great restaurant advice and travel tips for the area. We did the sled tour - however there was no snow, so it was effectively a... More
