This was by far the best part of my trip. The tour guide was amazing and knowledgeable. Salzburg is so bike friendly that it was easy to ride around the city seeing the different sound of music stops and more! Once out of the city, we played the sound track music and I felt like one of the Von Trapp children! If you’re a Sound of Music fan, this is a must!

Our whole family loved this--ages 40-something, 50-something, 16 and 10! Our "Maria" tour guide Steven was outstanding--informative, fun, and easy-going. I'd done the other bus-tour years ago but this bike tour is the only one to do when in Salzburg--you see all the sights and have time to stop for water, bathrooms, and good conversation. Steven brought a speaker along for optional sing-along's (I opted IN) and riding along the same tree-lined dirt road where the Von Trapp children climbed trees and in front of their "house" from the film was so fun. After touring Europe for a few days and walking so much and riding the train, just riding a bike around and getting such a great personal tour was one of our favorite things ;) from a two week European vacation. Awesome!

My son and I really enjoyed our bike tour with Steven last week. Steven has an engaging personality and was very easy to talk with throughout the trip. Walking up to the bikes, we were offered our pick of those that were out. Steven encouraged us to pick one out and take it for a spin. Test driving was helpful as we needed to adjust to riding on cobblestones. The bikes are easy to ride and conveniently have a basket for light weight belongings, plus a bell for emergencies. Our tour had about 11 people riding with us. Everyone seemed to keep up easily and all got along well. The speed was easily maintained and most of the terrain was easy riding. The only strenuous part was up to the Abbey. Most of us walked our bikes when our steam ran out. It was definitely worth the effort as the best views are at the top. After the city sites, we rode out into the countryside to find the houses and the glass gazebo. It was really nice to get to see both city and country as we had a truly beautiful day to enjoy in Salzburg. Once we were out of the city, we rode along listening to the soundtrack - it made the trip extra exhilarating in the cool, crisp air. We definitely recommend this tour. You will have a wonderful time with Steven as your guide!

An amazing way to see Salzburg! The ride is about 3 hours, mostly flat and you get to see most of the outdoor locations of the Sound of Music. The city is amazing and this is by far one of the best ways to see it.

It was a lovely tour. Our guide, "Sieko"(?), was funny, knowledgeable, and personable. He offered suggestions on can't-miss activities/sights that we took to heart and were glad we did! People coming from USA, Germany, Israel, Ireland, Austria, and the Czech Republic all shared the approximately 3.5hr experience. This tour was a great place to start off getting our bearings in Salzburg. Try to be on time or (preferably) early as you will need to check to see that your bike fits or if it will need to be adjusted. By law, children must wear a helmet which can be provided if you don't bring your own. Bring gloves if the weather is to be chilly and dress in layers. You will warm up along the way. There are two chances to go to the bathroom along the tour. At the first place, you will be able to buy food and drinks. At the second stop, you may fill a bottle with water but will not be able to buy any food or drink. After a leisurely ride through the old residence area, just before you turn the corner to ther road the Hohensalzburg Funicular entrance is on, you will need to make sure you are in the lowest gear as you will certainly be climbing! When you get to the top, you will be glad to have worn layers:) A short breakdown look around the Nunnery. Then get ready for some brake work. Your speed is dependent on who/what is going before you and your comfort with speed. I like to go fast but some in my family had trepidations about flying downtown hill, so, we went at a responsible, cautious pace. Quick note, make sure that if you are in the front of the tour, you can follow directions (probably not a task suited to a child or one who is child minding) as you will be called upon to do so at some marginally tricky areas. The guide will want to make sure he doesn't leave anyone behind - some like to go more slowly than others - so he will sit at certain points waiting and directing stragglers while the delegate lead will continue on to a specified regrouping point. Singing along to the music is encouraged - so is asking questions! Some in the tour group gave a Seiko(?) a tip at the end as he did such a good job! I am thankful we had him!
