You take a funicular rail ride to get to the top of this steep old fort on top of a mountain. The view from the top is spectacular. You can spend half a day here but best to arrive early because it gets very crowded....More

Amazing views of Salzburg and the surrounding countryside. Although the funicular railway is expensive it does save a very long and hard climb.

Great views can be enjoyed from this magnificent building. Going up on the cable car we found ourselves high above Salzburg looking out over the beautiful city. The puppet museum and other displays were very interesting and the facilities clean and accessible. Well worth a...More

Took the funicular and with the use of the audio. Definitely worth visiting the Salzburg Fortress. Rewarded with a breathtaking view of the city at the end of it.

Well worth a visit. Pay the full price and pay for the funicular, audio tour, state rooms and museum. Great views of the city from the tower. There are some nice touches using technology to show the history of the fortress.
