Really enjoyed all aspects of our visit to the fortress & it's museums. Pity so many of the exhibits do not have English translation of description. It's better value to book on line and allow 2-3 hours to enjoy everything properly

This was a great place to visit. Cable car up to the most incredible views over Salzburg and onto the mountains. The state rooms were really interesting and some incredible wooden ceilings if you like that sort of thing. Had lunch up there which was...More

The view is great from the top! We only managed to see the exterior hence can’t comment on the staterooms. The fortress is probably not suitable for young children with baby pram as need to carry up and down the stairs.

We visited Munich and Salzburg for four days and this was the highlight of the trip for me. The fortress was amazing and the views from the battlements were breathtaking. I would recommend allowing between 2 and 3 hours for your visit. It is best...More

A visit to this fortress/castle is a must do! We paid 32€ for two adults (no student fare offered) on site at the ticket booth. I’m told discounted options might be offered if you buy in advance online. We took about 2 1/2 hrs from...More

You can walk or take the funicular ride up to the fortress is fun thing to do. The views from the various levels of the fortress are quite spectacular and can see virtually 360deg of Salburg and beyond. You can ramble through the historic site...More

Not as far as I know. FYI - the walk up to the fortress can be quite steep; best not to bring it up and leave at the hotel / station
