Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The area has beautiful views as the bridge connects old town to new town. The pedestrian bridge is also called the Love Locks Bridge and the tradition is to place a lock when you visit. I didn't seek this out- just happened on it while out walking the area.

The bridge is a pedestrian bridge that spans the Salzach river. It is designed as a lovelock bridge which is a thing I don't really like.
Why you have to put a lock on anything to prove your love is beyond me. It seems a pointless waste of time, money and energy to me.
The bridge was covered in locks as its purpose. This didn't do it for me and we didn't walk across it.

A must visit bridge in Saltzburg for us was the Makartsteg Bridge or "Love Lock Bridge". This is one of several attractive bridges that cross the Salzach River in Salzburg Austria. The bridge was built in 2001. Thousands of locks attached to it by visiting lovers. Scenic and pictureque views from the bridge for photo shooting. Cheers.

The current Marko Feingold Bridge was also known as the Makart Bridge until recently. However, it was renamed in honor of Marko Feingold. It is a pedestrian bridge over the Salzach. The sides are "embellished" with inscribed padlocks, a bad habit that is unfortunately also known in other cities.

Makartsteg is a simple pedestrian Bridge across the River Salzach, just west of Staatbrucke Bridge. The bridge is named in honour of the19th century Salzburg painter Hans Makart.
This is another one of those bridges that's attracted the centuries tradition of lovers inscribing a lock with their initials and affixing the lock to the bridge. Whether you see that as a romantic gesture or vandalism is up to you.
From the bridge there's lovely views of the river and of course one of the major landmarks of the city the Fortress Hohensalzburg.

The touristy pedestrian bridge where you can buy a lock to put on it as a souvenir to your relationship, which we did. Quite crowded with people all the time, but gives you a good view of the river and quite romantic. The crowd is a bummer though.

Visited this place in the afternoon and evening on the 22nd of May 2024. This old medieval town fascinates you as it has an ancient history more than a thousand years. The streets, the shops, the statues, the churches all old architectural structures engulf you with their charm. One also has to cross the Makartsteg Bridge is one of several attractive bridges that cross the Salzach River in Salzburg Austria. The current bridge was built in 2001. It’s called the love lock bridge that has innumerable locks 🔒 on the bridge which is fascinating.

The bridge is nearby the Mozarthaus and Mirabell Platz.
There are lots of locks of uncountable varieties.
Ancient kinds of locks can be seen also. Most of these love locks have names mentioned in it also.

This bridge is covered with locks that people of left. Those locks are memories of a trip or something even greater. No matter the reason it makes this bridge really special. There is love on this bridge and the views from it both night and day are also incredibly beautiful.
