We visited Alpbach when we heard that it was described as one of the most beautiful villages in Austria and in Europe. We find it beautiful with the flowers decorating the village houses which are all of the same style. It is for sure worth the visit.

I spent 8 days in July hiking around Alpbach. This is a small town nestled in a valley between mountains. The town was very quiet. There are many trails which can be accessed directly from your hotel or a short bus ride. The Information Center in town can give you some initial help with the local buses, and then it... More

We stayed nearby at the Schloss Matzen (separate review) and made a stop here on our way to Salzburg. This visit ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. We got there around 9:30 am on a summer Sunday and by 10:00 there was a band playing, and locals drinking beer and socializing. The were chickens being roasted... More

Lovely picture-postcard Tyrollean town which is a great centre for walking in summer and skiing in winter. Friendly local people despite the very large number of visitors it gets

A beautiful small village in the heart of the Austrian Tyrol with access to fabulous walking through meadows and to peaks via steep paths or mountain gondolas. Flowers are abundant and the village is beautifully kept with hanging baskets on every hotel and house. Well worth a visit.

We stayed in Inneralpbach in the first half of January 2015 but unfortunately the snow let us down which was very disappointing having travelled from Australia. It snowed soon after we left and it looked like Alpbach had a good season from late January onwards. The Alpbach valley and village are very picturesque and a wonderful place to visit. Everything... The Ski Juwel region comprises 3 main resorts; Alpbach, Auffach and Niederau, together with several smaller ski areas. However, only Alpbach and Auffach are linked by a lift system, the other resorts/areas are reached by bus. The Alpbach/Auffach ski area offers approaching 100kms of predominantly red and blue runs with Alpbach slightly the larger of the two areas. Alpbach -... More

As total foreigners to both Austria and snow, we arrived late at night to the very lovely, warm and cozy Zellner Apartments just at the head of the village located at the Shell service station. Although it was 10pm, we were happily welcomed by staff and led to our lovely apartment. Can highly recommend this as cheap and great value... More
