    Very colourful
The old town is really beautiful, the houses are typical of the Tyrol. The town is quite big. There’s 300000 persons who are living here. The center of the old town is a big pedestrian area. You must park the car around the area or in a parking.

    Worth a day
Nice small city. Worthy of a days visit with a few older streets. Choice of restaurants and coffee houses although the traditional Austrian ones we tried weren’t great. Good tram system.

    A Wonderful Surprise
Innsbruck was very much a short stop between Vienna and Bern for us, and we had planned the Top of Innsbruck trip as our major activity. As such, we left the rest to chance and knew little about the city and what it offered. When we walked only a couple of minutes from our hotel and found the streets of the Altstadt, it was like stepping into another world. So many of the buildings are beautifully decorated; there are sights around every corner; and you can happily wander among the crowds to the river and back in a short time while soaking up the history. The Golden Roof is at the heart of the Altstadt, along with the town tower, but there are many other less well-known buildings and alleys to explore, cafes and restaurants to sample, and shops selling traditional Tirolian goods - I never knew a ham shop was a thing until I came to Innsbruck! It is busy all day and into the evening, but it is great to wander round and discover the historic centre.

The old city district of Innsbruck is interesting, delightful and very walkable. The Goldenes Dachl is one of the main points of interest during any tour but there is so much more to see here. Beautiful architecture. Lovely atmosphere of the pedestrian streets. Interesting churches and monuments. Inviting coffee shops and restaurants. Attention grabbing street performers.Scenic legendary Inn river. Hofburg Palace. Immerse yourself in this city like we did and you will have a beautiful and interesting fun day in Innsbruck

The Aldstadt is a lovely building set in an equally lovely street.
There is not a lot to see inside it as it is still a working building but it is very picturesque.
As part of the Inssbruck experience and such a lovely location it is certainly worth a visit.

Driving from Bolzano to Munich Innsbruck is a pretty obvious lunchstop. There are a number of parking garages in the old town and once on the surface what a delight. Lots of cafes and a stroll down the main street reveals numerous lovely old buildings. Lots of happy smiling tourists, but it also had the feel of a university town with many young people sitting in the sun drinking coffee or racing around on their bikes. Well worth a stop if you're passing through - and n doubt a longer stop if possible.

Strolled through Altstadt Innsbruck during a visit to Innsbruck in early March 2023. Picturesque town square with many historical landmarks including the Golden Roof, Hofburg Innsbruck, Dom zu St. Jakob and others. Restaurants and stores fill beautiful old style buildings.

We visited 4 countries and stopped in Innsbruck as a mid point. What a total surprise! Absolutely beautiful the old town area. The views of the popping Alps with the snowy peaks, the river, the historic buildings and on and on. We ended up going into Italy and later returned to Innsbruck just to see those Alps! Used a electric scooter for my mobility issues and it was a bit rough with the old cobble streets but I managed taking the easier areas like lower cross walks! We stayed by the train station very close by and later on the river!

If you visit Innsbruck you have to visit the old town. Beautiful buildings and car free. Lots of restaurants are also located here. It has some nice cosy streets but it is not as big as for example the old town of Salzburg.

Designed for busloads of tourists, without them, all amenities are in disrepair, especially toilets.
