Cable cars give access to the mountains for short stroll or longer hike. Great view points down across the town and the surrounding mountains. Recommend the evening accent on Friday in the summer to watch the sun set over the wilderkaiser.

I've always fancied skiing the Hahnenkamm since the heady days of watching the legendary Franz Klammer on "Ski Sunday" which was essential viewing in the early 1980s. But what put me off was the ludicrous (it seemed) lack of altitude. Having been brought up on...More

Hello dlight 42, thank you very much for your great feedback. Indeed our height often makes people guess if we can keep up with higher siuated ski resorts. In fact, these days the hight is not a limitating factor anymore due to very professional snowfarming,...More

Lost count of how many cable car (etc) options in Summer - 8 or 9. And run the Aquarena water park centre too. Review would be 5* but for the price - but great things don't come cheap. We had a 4 days out of...More

The cable car up the Hahnenkamm is situated right next to the train station of the same name – many cable cars are named after winners of the Kitzbühel ski races. Upon arriving at the top you will find a huge choice of walks, mostly...More

We came to Kitzbuhel for the day and jumped on the lift in the morning, buying a ticket to get to the top, walking down to the Alpenhaus before getting the lifts back down. This was a superb idea. At the very top the view...More

Such a nice area - great variation of lifts and slopes. Big pluss for many covered and even heated chair-lifts.

Skiing the Alps was great and highly recommend. This was a great starting point for the mountains. Gondola was great and accommodations on top and bottom were good.

Yes, there is only one area and public buses run from everywhere in and around town. Westendorf connects to Ellmau's Wilder Kaiser Ski region though. The slopes are endless! Comparable to Aspen, Vail, Whistler.
