I'd never seen a frozen lake before, let alone walked across one! Really picturesque, and an easy leisurely walk, with plenty of opportunities to stop for gluhwein and hot chocolates.

I went in Kitzbuhel in December and the weather was... ehm... so a walk to the lake revealed a very nice scene. I walked about 45 min approx. I think that this walk is a MUST DO :)

Nice little cafe perfect for lunch or coffee midway through your walk. A lovely place to walk when you don't have time for a big hike!

At the entrance to the lake there is access to the lake plus areas where you can have a picnic, however, all around the lake has spots you can picnic and access the lake quite easily. Beautiful place, enjoy!

Actually, from the town center, it is relatively flat, maybe a shallow incline, but not seriously "uphill". Kitzbühel also has wonderful sidewalks and paths that make any walk easy. It is 1.6 miles or 2.7km from the Museum... More

Hello, I can't honestly remember, when we walked round it was just before open season, there were some watercraft but I am afraid I can't be specific. I do remember seeing lots of really big fish! Have a great time!
