Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

On the day that we visited at the end of May, workers were wheeling potted citrus trees into the Privy Garden and the floral displays were really just getting going. But we could see how pretty the formal gardens would be when the flowers were in full bloom. There is a long vine-covered walkway and some good views of the palace. We went in because there was no charge, since it was already covered by our Vienna Passes. Consider whether it is worth paying the small entrance fee if it's not summer blooming season. The garden is located just to the left of the palace as you approach from the main gate. Half an hour or less will be enough time for this garden; it is quite small.

We didn't paid for this, but from the inside the palace, during the tour we could see it from the window, and also from the outside. There were some flowers blooming, it was nice but not sure if it is worth paying for it...at least not this early during the year.

If you are in palace avoid pay extra money to enter for privy garden. What you see from outside is what you see once inside. 😂. It is pretty but too expensive for that.

The Privy Garden did not seem to up to the standards of the rest of the palace gardens. Seemed sparse and not well kept. you might pass on this one.

There are so many wonderful things to say about the Schonbrunn gardens. Plan on spending at least an hour (2 or more is ideal) walking the grounds. While much of the gardens area is in direct sunlight, there are many paths that are shaded - an important thing in the middle of summer. I'd recommend that you visit the free portions of the gardens as well as the "paid" gardens. They are simply amazing.

5 euro to visit definitely a waste of money, flower beds full of weeds and generally look neglected, it’s a bit of a rip off to be honest

We were very fond of visiting this garden. However, the flowers which were planted have passed and hadn't been replaced. There were lots of weeds everywhere, didn't seem at all to be a tidy garden. The tunnel is nice for walking and photos but that's it. Not worth the money.

This is one very pretty garden adjacent to the Palace building. It's paid entry, but it is included in the Grand tour ticket for Schonbrunn. Splendid views of the plants with nice, private and secluded place to relax.

Not sure why this small numbers of reviews, this is really worth checking out.

The garden of the Schonbrunn Palace is amazingly organized and it is free for anyone to visit. The Privy Garden however is a small part of it, that is arranged in an even prettier manner and you have to pay a fee in order to gain entrance. You can walk around different types of exotic trees and plants during the Summer but you don't have direct access to the main part of the garden with the tiny bush-labyrinth. You can, however observe it from the side. The huge bush-tunnel is amazingly shady and such a pleasure to walk through on a hot Summer day. We had access to this garden because we bought the Classic combined ticket for 5 attractions. I don't know if it would have been worth paying extra to see it... of course, if you are in Vienna once in your life, you should try to see everything. :)

In desperate need of a great deal of TLC.

The weeds had taken over the garden some months since and the remedial treatment undertaken to correct the situation seems to have been slow in coming.

Having been in the garden I wouldn't have paid to come in - at best just have a look at it from the elevated stand area.
