We originally planned to take the train to Vienna however the boat was faster, taking into account it left from the city centre, and the views were far better. It was a great trip. I'd recommend paying the extra to book the front row seats. Extra leg room and comfort.

I took a trip on Twin City Liner in mid-September 2016 and had purchased my tickets well in advance as my wife and I made our way from Vienna to Bratislava as part of a trip through Central Europe. The day before our trip I happened to visit the Twin City Liner website as I had not received a reminder... More

For my 89's mother's birthday, I had bought 2 tickets from Bratislava to Vienna but they did not allow us on their boat because I did not have an identity paper. They sent us back, at our expanses, by bus. (You don't need any identity papers by train or bus.. as logical since we are in Europe) On their long... More

This excursion was booked by our hotel through Vienna Sightseeing. We wanted to leave Bratislava on the 2:30 boat, rather than the 4:00 boat which was booked in advance. Despite wide availability on the earlier boat, the staff refused to help us unless we paid again the full fare. That and the paucity of information from Vienna Sightseeing on what... More

The travel by boat from Viena to Bratislava is very interesting and with a beautiful view but be careful. The staff are not helpful. The boy sold us a ticket ($35,00 each) of a boat that leave immediately and we lost it, and when we went to trade the ticket he sold us a more expensive one ($40,00 each) and... More

We took the twin city line to Bratislava for €35 each oeway although we only booked it the morning of departure so our seats weren't together. Once on the Danube you can get up and walk about. There is a small bar onboard but not sure on prices. Nice way to travel but we took the train back 20 minutes... More

We stayed in Vienna for our break and decided to take the trip to Bratislava. The booking clerk at the Twin Cities office was decidedly unhelpful, no matter when we wanted to go it was booked out, when we finally managed to get a trip we couldn't come back at the time we wanted despite it still being advertised as... Staff on the boat not very friendly! Morning trip on the Danube was great, but a full day in Bratislava was too long. There is lots of walking!

The Twin Cities Liner offers high speed boat connection between Vienna and Bratislava. Only somewhat slower than by car, it offers a unique experience of a really fast cruise on the river. Plan at least half a day for the trip. Several departures per day. Maybe combined with an overnight stay.
