It was by far the best museum we've visited, with so many small details thought out. A lot of kids attractions that adults can also enjoy

W spend here about 3 hours, very nice and big building, looking extraordinary from outside, there is big covered parking near to it (museums quartier) get a map of the museum as you enter to the info point so that you keep track of what you see, so you are sure you will not miss anything, the most interesting thing... Visited on our final day, managed to see everything in a couple hours but could have spent the whole day. A great range of things to see, slightly annoying not everything was translated into English, (the majority was). Loved the robotic dinosaur. The cafe is really nice, it's well worth grabbing a window seat and watching the people milling about... More

The museum had incredible displays and very detailed information. It also contains some interactive exhibits. The building of the museum itself is also beautiful!

This place can take the whole day if you are interested. I only went once and regret not having time to come back and finish the "tour" properly. When you have been exploring the animal kingdom for hours there's not enough energy to read about Big Bang -theory :D next time I will focus on that. Also the place itself... More

Have been too many other Natural History Museums, NYC, Wash. DC, Chicago. I enjoyed this one just as much. To me two to three hours is enough no matter which museum. Well worth the money.

This museum is well worth a visit. The gemstone and mineral collection is stunning with the most amazing colours and shapes. In particular the section which compares the minerals to animals in the wild is fascinating. Some of the exhibits are slightly dated but ver much keeping to the environment if the museum. The building is stunning and ver majestic.... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
