I think this was our favorite tourist attraction in Vienna. The gardens are pretty nice, the palace looks really good. You can take nice pictures there. It's a must visit if you are in Vienna.

In the Orangerie of the lower Belvedere Palace, we visited one of the finest exhibitions of Monet, portraits coming from all over the world to Vienna, well worth a visit, and lose your thoughts, cares and wories in the depths of one of Monet's masterpieces!...More

Great juts to see the works of Gustav Klimt but there is much more to see as well. We visited during the winter but I imagine the gardens are spectacular in the summer months.

Loved the art works - well displayed with bilingual notes for each work. The layout of the Upper Belvedere was easy to follow and there was a lift for people unable to handle the large staircases. However, the toilet facilities were abysmal - 4 female...More

This was our first trip out on a break to Vienna and we were pleasantly surprised. We visited as it was a lovely building but the art collection was wonderful. Normally I lose interest after a short while in a traditional art gallery, however this...More

I mainly wanted to see the Klimt which I thoroughly enjoyed. Lots of other art - not all to my taste, but interesting nonetheless. The entrance hall sculptures are magnificent.

A great setting and a great art exhibition. 100% worthwhile the money. Especially the exhibition of the Gustavo Klimt paintings (like the Kiss) and, currently, the exhibition of Monet (awesome). Must see if you stay here. Nice garden area too, even this time of year,...More

- is not a real palace, is more of a museum - you wont see that much of a palace, but more paintings - is not the same experience as Schonnbrun, it's more like an art galerie - cloakroom is compulsory, and it costs :(....More

The palace itself it lovely, however the art was a little dissapointing. There were supposed to be Monet's on display but weren't. Having said that the Gustav Klimt section and the Waldmuller's were top draw, and worth the visit. Plus in December there is a...More

To do the art exhibitions in the Belvedere justice just buy the ticket for the upper palace and walk the gardens...this will probably take you several hours. If you then have time or an extra half a day go to the lower. I... More

We traveled by metro to Hauptbahnhof (main railway station) and we changed for tram there. There is a tram stop just at the entrance of Upper Belvedere. We bought one day tickets for 7.60 euros each, which were valid for... More

Hi I am spending half a day touring Schönbrunn Palace, Gardens, The Gloriette, Mews, The imperial Apartments. We have only 3 days in Vienna. Would it be worth allocating sometime for Belvedere Palace Museum ?

Good question: I am a big Gustav Klimt fan so I had to see the Klimt pieces. The Belvedere is worth the trip and you could probably get through it in two hours.
