We had been for a long walk through central Vienna and had found ourselves in the Museum Quartier. Somehow, on our return walk to our hotel on the opposite of the city, we managed to take a wrong turn. Consequently, we were faced with an...More

Karlsplatz is a gorgeous public square surrounded by many beautiful buildings, in particular Karlskirche, gardens and a large shallow water feature with an interesting modern sculpture by Henry Moore titled 'Hills Arches'. Very lovely square/park in front of the Karlskirche, with beautiful pond in the centre. Not as big as some other parks, so not so quiet and peaceful. But definately worth checking out.

A good starting point for a walk to the old Vienna city. Easily accessible by U-bahn (U1, U2 and U4). Small landscaped park with a pond and a lovely view on the Karlskirche. Good for a short relaxing break.

A pleasant city park that is much a transport hub and artery for people moving around the city! Karlskirche, the baroque masterpiece, is the crowning glory of the park!

It would be difficult to explore Vienna without arriving at Karlsplatz on several occasions. It is a large town square and one of the most significant transport hubs in the city. We first came here to catch the U-Bahn out to Schonbrunn but crossed the...More
