The Musikverein is also home to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. So when I get an opportunity to go for a summer concert at the Musikverein, I jumped at the opportunity. After all, The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra is a legend onto its own. You won’t be able to find an orchestra that is more coveted, or more praised than this. The... More

A must try when visiting Vienna, especially if the Vienna Philharmonic is in town. The music hall itself is a wonder -- great acoustics. I got a last minute ticket -- a cheap standing room ticket. It was a bit tiring standing the whole time and the pillar blocked some of my view. If possible, try to get a ticket... More

We were lucky to get tickets to this world-renowned establishment. I play the piano, and love classical guitar, but the day we went, Hilary Hahn was playing the violin, and after hearing her perform. I have a new appreciation for violin concertos. Her performance,.with the famous Viennese Philharmonicl was an unforgettable experience

Went here tonight with a work colleague. The show was in two parts. The first was about 45 min and included a pianist and some great music. The second part (after a 15 min intermission) was 75 min and included two opera singers. Both were good. Beautiful venue!

The tickets are not a bargain...especially for visitors trying to get good seats from a distance but some (...few!) things are beyond price! Even for longtime Chicago symphony goers the Vienna Philarmonic is a spectacular treat. The hall is predictably nice but the music is truly incredible. We managed great seats through the hotel concierge and saw Zubin Mehta conduct... More

After ten years of putting our names in the draw on the Weiner Philarmoniker website, we finally got two tickets to the Preview Concert for the New Years Day Concert. The tickets were expensive and so was our flight from Australia and the accommodation. We had to pinch ourselves to make sure we were really in the beautiful Musikverein listening... More

I would say i heard good musicians with good organization and very nice harmony but I would prefer a rather cheaper approach for all categories of people, pensioners, children, unemployed people and other. Thank you though for the nice experience.

I was very fortunate to get a same night concert ticket to this magnificent place. Have seen the new year eve concert so many time on the TV. It was like a dream to sit in this place to listen, to surmerge, to simply enjoy the sounds. When you are in Vienna and staying overnight, head to the ticket office... More

When you are in Vienna and staying overnight and have time at night, you must look for a concert in Musikverein and any performance by Vienna Philharmonic. You should not miss this experience. Both building itself and listening one of the best Philharmonic Orchestra in the world is impressive. If you are in Vienna during Xmas, You must have a... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
