Kahlenberg is a great place to visit for some of the best views of Vienna. You take the U4 to its end at Helligenstadt. then hop on the 38a bus. It takes you all the way up on the same daily ticket for all of...More

If you want to see the city of Vienna from above, you have to go up to Kahlenberg. It is amazing at day and at night too.

For someone from Poland is obligatory. However, it should be for everyone visiting Vienna. The views themselves are really amazing. If you have more time, try to have a walk down back to the suburbs of Vienna.

Go up there with the bus 38A from U4 Subway station Heiligenstadt. On a clear day of course. The most beautiful pictures can be made from Khalenberg looking down unto the Danube and the city highlights.

My eyes felt quite pleasant when I went on the peak. So windy peak, beautifull forest and the sunny weather. a few minutes of walking around made me so relaxed.

It is a bit far from the city centre but definitely worth a visit during a sunny day. It is a hill, from which Jan III Sobieski of Poland led his attack on Turks during the second siege of Vienna saving the city - hence,...More

Was driven up here by our local guide, who insisted on showing off the views - there was a very ample car park, an old church, a restaurant or two and some snack/souvenir stands, but the view is the main thing. Sadly on our visit...More

Take the Ubahn 4 to Heiligenstadt and then catch bus 38A. After an amazing trip up the hills overlooking Vienna you will get off in Kahlenberg. There is a large viewing area and the cafe there serves excellent snacks at a reasonable price.

Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most
romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its
many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby
Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls
through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of
a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are
Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns,
and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill –

No issue if you go by bus up to the hill. If you go by D Tram to the foot of the hill in Nussdorf, I recommend a stroller for the almost 300 highmeter up.

Yes and yes Angela, there are paths that interlink with the road on which the bus runs, so you could walk part of the way and ride if the rest if you want. It's wise to ride up, it's long way down to Grinzing again where you... More

The Kahlenberg is fairly flat at the top. The 38A bus goes there, you can pick it up at Grinzing, which is reached from the Schottentor by the 38 tram. Most tram routes now include low-floor trams, I am sure the tourist... More
