Must visit in Bodø
Dec 2019 • Family
With the helpful guide of the Staff. We found valuable info to Northern Light and Saltstraumen (Whirlpool). With schedules and related shops opening info of the place. Very patient and resourceful.

We stopped here during our northbound Hurtigruten cruise and, knowing we would be staying in Bodo later in our trip, made sure to plan another stop. It is a very short walk from the mall near the port and the Clarion Hotel. The people working at the information centre are very helpful with maps and other tourist ideas. They have a very good selection of souvenirs at a reasonable price. I am so glad we had a chance to return to this very helpful information centre.

My wife and I went into the tourist information office upon our arrival to Bodo. We found the office very easily as it is on one of the main drags in Bodo. Inside we found useful information and a very friendly and helpful young woman who was able to answer all of our questions and make suggestions about Bodo. It is worth stopping in before you head out into Bodo.

A Visit Made All the Difference

The people at the Bodø Tourist Information office were extremely helpful in planning a visit to the Saltstraumen maelstrom during a couple of hours in Bodø waiting for the ferry to Lofoten. They helped me decipher both the tide tables and the bus schedules, so that everything meshed perfectly. Without their help I probably would not have had the confidence that I could get there at the proper time to see the maelstrom in action and make it back in time to catch the ferry. Much appreciated!

Cheaper souvenirs; closed on Sundays
Mar 2019 • Friends
Worth a visit for lots of information about what to do around Bodo. You can also find cheaper souvenirs than in other places. Unfortunately, it is closed on Sundays.

The Tourist Information in Bodö
Jun 2018 • Solo
When I went out from my ship I followed the sign to the Tourist Info, but I couldn’t find it, so I asked a Japanese tourist, who I met at the street and he told me where to find it. I went in and got a map and some important information about Bodö. Nice staff. The sign showed right forward to the left, but the info was little hidden at the rights side.

Visit from cruise boat on Sundau
Mar 2018 • Couples
Bodo, on a Sunday afternoon in March, has to be one of the dullest, grey and boring places to go. No charisma, no where to go for coffee, nothing to do. Maybe better in summer/Mon-Sat), but cant recommend!!

We came to Bodo on a Hurtigruten cruise and they did not give as any information on Bodo so we walked into town from the port which was about a 15min walk to find that the tourist information centre is shut on a Sunday, yes it was winter but WHY SHUT a tourist information centre tourist come all the time and Hurtigruten stop most days in Bodo. Very disappointed in the town as everything was basically shut. We walked through the closed shopping arcade and a few streets before heading back to the ship a very disappointing port of call and I do not think I will be back in Summer

Free wifi and no stress
Jul 2017 • Family
Great spot to use free wifi, get some postcards and info from the friendly staff. We were there twice and received advice on hiking, beaches and Lofoten. They were very helpful however I think it would be good if the tourist bureau offered help with booking accommodation and tours, especially for the ferry to Lofoten.
