Highly recommend this tour. Made the experience more personal having a smaller group and go to certain stunning locations. Matteo was very friendly, enthusiastic and knew what he was talking about and what to look for. Took some great photos and the camp fire, soup, marshmallows and hot chocolate added to the experience. We were very lucky to see a spectacular show. Highly recommend the thermal suits you get offered!

10 out of 10 for our team leader Markus. We went on the last day of October. Weather was no so good in the afternoon, heavy rain & snow. Luckily rain & snow stopped at night, yet the moon was like a lamp bulb in the sky. Thanks to Markus led us to a beautiful, wild valley, on a frozen river. Large-scale northern light began to show up from 8pm and lasted for hours. When we thought the trip was coming to an end, suddenly the aurora became so intense that it danced for quite a while, so amazing making me speechless. Markus is full of passion and cares all members during the whole trip. Well prepared equipment and food.

This guided lights hunt was unforgettable. Markus was an amazing host and his passion for the lights made the trip a special one. On a night where we were navigating cloudy/snowy weather and only moderate lights activity, Markus drove us all the way to Finland to catch a glimpse of the lights. Constantly checking forecasts and satellite projections, we saw the lights a bit early on.
Then on our drive home Markus pulled over and above us was the most incredible lights display I had ever seen. Pure magic. "Just look!" Markus told us as he captured the photos for us and allowed us to enjoy with our own eyes..
The homemade soup was an amazing bonus as well. Couldn't recommend this tour enough.

This was truly one of the most magical nights of our lives. Matteo was a wonderful guide and compered the evening from start to finish. Despite the full moon we were able to watch the lights dance on several occasions, which supported by laughter and refreshments around the campfire added to an amazing experience. Wouldn’t be able to recommend enough.

This was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and Matteo our guide with Greenlander made sure that the whole night was really special. We were so lucky to see the beautiful northern lights in action. Matteo was a fun and informative guide, you could see his passion for the lights and helping others to see them in all their glory! He literally ran through knees deep snow and picked up a fire pit with his bare hands to help us get the perfect shots and visibility.
Thankyou so much, honestly an experience of a lifetime and one for the bucket list.
Greenlander provides thermal suits and snow boots which were heaps better than mine. Just remember to rug up with LOTS of layers especially on your toes!

Absolutely incredible experience, Markus is a fantastic guide and incredibly passionate & accommodating. Markus really went the extra mile, making us a fire on the beach and providing us tasty home made food. We were the last bus out, and it paid off with some beautiful Northern Lights at midnight. Would absolutely recommend Greenlander to anyone looking to book this experience. Cheers!

It was an absolutely amazing experience! All of my expectations were surpassed. Matteo was an amazing guide. He was knowledgeable and determined to ensure that everyone had a great time on the trip. If you are in Tromso and you want to see the Northern Lights, Greenlander is the only way to go!

Matteo was so passionate about the auroras and had great energy throughout the night! We were lucky enough to see auroras all night at various stops. One of the shows lasted 30 minutes! Matteo was helpful with camera setting and anything else that we need. The hot coco and soups were delicious! I can’t recommend this tour enough 10/10.

Most of the reviews are from March, September and October, since these are the best months for the Northern Lights. Saying that, it is possible to see the Northern Lights through-out the winter season, between the months of September and March. The key is to book 2-3 tours, for which, I couldn't put enough emphasise on! Booking 2-3 tours for the Northern Lights chase, I can guarantee almost 100%, we will find you the Northern Lights. Our general success rate to find the Northern Lights is as high as it gets in Tromsø - between 95-98%. This is due to long experience guiding the Northern Lights tours and the willingness to go above and beyond (sometimes driving all the way to Finland or Sweden!) to make sure, you will leave Tromsø, happy and satisfied with your Northern Lights sighting. :)

The prices of the different tours depend quite bit - is the tour going out as an general tour with different bookings or is it a private tour.

Of course price per person depends on a tour. For example the Northern Lights tour would be 1500 NOK per person if booked between now and beginning of the season. After the season has began, the price will be 1600 NOK per person.
