Prior to booking, the company were great to deal with and really responsive via email, so booking was an easy process. During the tour, Markus was incredible- he went out of his way to try and find the lights for us despite adverse weather conditions. We started the trip thinking there was no way we’d see the northern lights but with Markus’ knowledge and effort we saw them brilliantly and had an amazing time in the process! Markus was informative, fun, and kindly brought plenty of hot chocolate and delicious soup to keep us all going. Cannot recommend this company enough- their Instagram pictures speak for themselves, but if you need more encouragement, look at all these great reviews and feel reassured that you will have a great time no matter what.
Thank you so much Markus for making it a memorable trip!

The tour was amazing!
The guide was welcoming, concerned and willing to find the best spots to see the lights and it worked really well (see pictures).
From picking us up to our Airbnb to providing us homemade soups around a bonefire, I can tell you that the tour was complete and totally worth it. Definitely recommend you to book it now.

A fantastic northern lights trip with JJ! When we set off from Tromsø, it was looking very cloudy, but JJ drove us east towards Skibotn where the weather was forecast to be better. JJ kept getting out of the car to take pictures of the sky to look for gaps. It was still cloudy, so we drove further east into Finland and then to a bridge between Finland and Sweden. A few small gaps opened up and we were able to see the lights through the clouds.

In contact with other guides, JJ heard that the clouds were opening up behind us, so we jumped back in the car and returned to Norway where we were treated to a (mostly) clear sky, and bright lights.

JJ took portraits and pictures throughout, set up a campfire and served soup, snacks, and hot drinks. We returned to Tromsø about 2am, and we received the photos from JJ before we woke up the next day.

Highly recommended, if we were on a larger tour, we probably wouldn't have seen the lights, as we kept moving around quickly to find the gaps in the clouds.

We had the pleasure of having Arbo as our guide last night and were not disappointed. He found the lights for us in three separate spots and did not settle until we found a cozy place on the water with a beautiful lights display even after driving to Finland. I would highly recommend this tour, they will not disappoint! Thank you for an amazing experience we will never forget Arbo!

We were a group of of 8 with Arbo as our guide. We were seated on stools around a campfire enjoying a hot homemade soup. Stars and reflections were in the sky and on the water. And then the show began, lasting several hours and increasing in size and color. It was thrilling.
Thank you to Arbo, who took and then posted photos that same night and who also helped some of us capture our own camera shots.
Thank you to him again for his knowledge of the lights, the viewing spots, and for rolling with the fluid dynamics of the Auroras, being willing to stay late so as not to miss any of it. It was a great night for all of us.

We had the pleasure of being in a Group with JJ who was pretty euphoric when he picked us up as the northern lights already showed up clearly above Tromsø. So we skipped the introduction and drove to a darker place outside of the city asap. After we arrived, my girlfriend and I were very very happy to see the lights this clear since there were no clouds at all which is pretty rare and you can't take it for granted, especially when driving into the dark for just a few minutes. Although my expectations already were more than fulfilled, the luck did not leave us yet:
the sky went absolutely crazy, green lights dancing turning into a huge pink dance machine. We could not believe our eyes and even our experienced guide JJ was so excited that I turned speechless about how lucky we are.
After the intensity of this amazing green and pink 'show' given by nature died a little bit, we drove to another place in a very dark valley where we had a campfire and catched up to the introduction until the northern lights turned stronger again - mostly green this time but crystal clear and in a variety of shapes.
All in all, I can say that it was the most beautiful spectacle my eyes have ever witnessed. I know how goddamn lucky we were but as JJ was so passionate about hunting the best possible conditions to see the lights, I am pretty sure he would have made the evening a success under worse conditions!
Besides seeing the northern lights (and trying to photograph them myself) the pictures we got from JJ are absolutely stunning! So in my opinion, if you are not an experienced photographer, I recommend enjoying the northern lights through your eyes instead of your camera as JJ (/ the guide) is most likely doing a better job of catching the perfect shot anyway.

We had an amazing experience lead by our guide, Matteo. We saw stunning scenery, so many stars, planets, the Milky Way and the Northern Lights...which kept getting better and better as the night progressed, . I literally was in awe of what I was viewing. Matteo was kind, helpful and he educated us, imparting interesting information about Lady Aurora. The delicious soup, cookies and hot chocolate around the campfire really added to the overall experience. We even toasted some marshmallows! Matteo took stunning photographs throughout the night which we received via email the next day. I loved that aspect because I was able to truly savor the 'show'. I didn't have to worry about trying to capture the photos myself. I appreciated the fact Matteo brought us to two different locations as variations in the landscapeprovide different backgrounds to the spectacle taking place in the sky. From pick-up in the city center of Tromso to drop off at our respective accommodations, every minute was magical. The tour is run very w
ell! The warm suits and boots they provide allow people to remain in the elements taking
it all in. I highly recommend this company!

An epic, intimate Northern Lights experience which conveniently leaves from Tromso. Our friendly guide Matteo took us around 1.5 hours from town and we stopped at two different spots to catch the lights, the second one a truly epic show! On the tour, we were taught how to photograph the lights and were treated to a delicious soup around a camp fire, where Matteo told us lots of information about the aurora. A great experience if you prefer group tours that are smaller in size. The team are highly professional in finding the best spots for the lights too!

The weather conditions and the clouds were against us, but our guide (Markus) made sure we didn't miss the appearance of the green lady. He really did everything he could, checked all sources of information, explained the details, he was truly determined we almost ended up in Sweden to have the highest chance possible. He also made sure everyone was comfortable in the cold and that everyone got their faboulous pictures once the Aurora showed up. We spent a great tour with him, all in all, I can only recommend booking a tour with Greenlander. Thank you for everything, it really was an experience of a lifetime ❤️

Absolutely amazing experience, can’t recommend this tour highly enough.

Our Guide Mateo was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful with taking photos and with best settings for our own cameras.

After a disappointing unsuccessful trip in Iceland last year, we were worried about the bad weather in Tromso when we left, but, true to their word, within half an hour we were out of the city heading into clearer skies.

We stopped several times along the way to our final destination just inside the Finnish border when the lights were active for different photo stops and viewing.

Our last stop was in a wide open area with nearly clear skies in Finnish Lapland. The Aurora was incredible and so strong, and even though the moon didn’t rise until just as we left, the aurora was so bright you could see all the landscape.

We had a small campfire with hot chocolate, a delicious carrot soup and marshmallows which was a really nice touch and a unique experience.

The small group size made a huge difference, its a bit dearer than a large group but much more personal, intimate, mobile and a lot less waiting than in the larger group we had tried to see them with earlier.

I managed to take some (ok) photos on my iPhone (13mini) but the pictures Mateo took on his camera for us and of us were incredible (I’ve added one below).

We left at 5:30 and returned to the hotel at about 2am, but it didn’t feel like it dragged at all. Also, because of how quickly the aurora could change or come and go, a small group was a much better experience for getting in and out and stopping and getting back on the road.

5 stars, absolute bucket list experience.
