If I could give more than 5 stars, I would - this trip far exceeded expectations!!
Lise, the guide is amazing! She made us feel completely at home - the yurt was VERY comfortable, and the food she prepared was delicious! She is a very skilled kayaker, and made us feel safe while out in the kayaks. We were lucky enough to experience the Northern Lights while we were there! This trip is a must do for anyone traveling in the Tromso, Norway area!!

It’s been nearly a year since we went on this adventure with Lise and I still can’t put into words how amazing this experience was.
Lise was fantastic and we can’t thank her enough. Lise gave us a fantastic insight into local life, food, culture and wildlife. Her expertise kayaking made us feel incredibly safe and comfortable.
We were incredibly lucky with the weather, seeing very strong northern lights whilst kayaking.
The whole trip was expertly planned and expertly delivered - I would recommend this to anyone searching for an adventure and would love to return.

This was one of the best outdoor trips we've ever done. The setting is amazingly beautiful, especially during the polar night. We loved kayaking around the area, both in the dark and in the "twilight" that you get during the day-- the area is breathtakingly beautiful. Lise is great, she is very knowledgable, friendly and kind, and we really enjoyed just sitting back and chatting over dinner with her at the end of the day. She also knows a lot about local wildlife and was able to point out seals, moose, fish and various birds to us as we paddled, which was very interesting. We would love to come back and do a longer trip in the future, we enjoyed the time so much. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves the outdoors and has a taste for a bit of adventure, you won't regret it!

We simply loved this beautiful waterside wilderness, and the whole 3-day experience was put together superbly by Lise; we had high hopes when we booked, but it exceeded all of our expectations. We arrived just after the first snow of the winter season, and the drive from Tromso was accompanied by lots of interesting conversations and regularly interrupted by stops for photographs of the amazing Norwegian mountain scenery. We arrived on the island from the short ferry ride and walked into the campsite with head torches in the darkness of late afternoon. Whilst we set up in our yurt, Lise went to the boat house to make a log fire and prepare dinner. What we had not quite anticipate was the lovely food, and careful menu planning from high quality locally sourced produce, which was the perfect preparation for active days, and recharging at the other end (plenty energy along the way too). Lise guides the experience by your wishes and ability, with plenty of support, so we got straight into the night kayaking and were treated to a horizon-to-horizon display of the aurora in a clear icy sky, topped of by meteorite burning up through the atmosphere, a stunning backdrop to the peace on the gentle inter-island waters. Winter in this environment is stunning, and the high-end equipment supplied on-site will keep you plenty warm enough to enjoy the whole experience, helped along by warm drinks and snacks! We saw marine life, seals, eagles, and a single other human over the three days, oh, and a scenic backdrop to fill your soul. Simply fabulous and unforgettable!
Just a word on our booking experience. The booking engine indicated that there was no availability on the week we wanted to go, so we emailed Lise directly and got a quick positive response. Message is, ask, as you certainly don't want to miss out on this experience if at all possible.

Incredible!! Easy booking and communication with Lise, who is the host and owner. This is a private camping experience and Lise is so sweet and the perfect host. She picked us up in Tromsø, treated us with local snacks and hot drinks for the drive to and from the camp. The area is breathtakingly beautiful and very secluded. You have your own space in your urt at the camp- or you can join Lise in the kitchen and dining room for a chat and stories about the area. The kayaking experience in the bay on Europe’s corner of the Atlantic ocean felt so special and thrilling. You immerse yourself nature. Lise is skilled at kayaking and you feel safe around her. I LOVED this experience. I would go back and stay at least two nights for a true wild elements experience, kayaking, hiking and chatting with Lise.

Unforgettable experience
We stayed there for two days during February 2022 with my brother, and we will not soon forget it.
It starts with a long scenic drive across the different fjord and island from Tromsø to the camp, where Lise gave us lots of interesting information on the region and what to expect during the trip.
The camp is in a beautiful location, and the yurts can easily fit four people and are modernly equipped with a small kitchen with electricity. Thanks to wood and paraffin heaters, we were not cold during the night.
We went kayaking at night and were lucky enough to see Northern lights while paddling along the shore! Although there was strong wind during our outing, we never felt unsafe. Lise took great care to adapt the route according to the conditions and our capabilities and took great care to keep us informed on the different possibilities during the trip.
We went cross-country skiing the second day as the wind was still very strong, and it was also fantastic. We did a 3-hour hike across the island sometime just beside the sea, which you do not do every day!
There is also snowshoe equipment at the camp if you want to go for a walk instead.
Finally, the food was delicious. Lise adapted lunch according to our diet preferences and made us taste locally produced food and beverage. She also provided snacks and hot drinks for the activities. You will definitely don't starve while staying there. The view while eating was breathtaking. We even saw some otters and other wildlife, and Lise is very knowledgeable about local fauna and flora.
We spend two fantastic days with Lise as a guide. Our only regret was that we only booked for two days, not three. Do not make the same mistake if you can!

Do not hesitate, book this and be confident you will have an amazing time! This was one of the best experiences I've had in all my travels. Lise manages your stay from the moment you get picked up to the moment you are dropped off. She is a superwoman guide! We stayed with her for the 2-day trip in mid-Feb'22. She picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the camp allowing pictures along the way. The camp is located in an extremely beautiful area. The boathouse and yurts are perfectly outfitted with anything you would need and are incredibly comfortable for sleeping. Lise prepared our dinner and my son commented "I would eat this meal every day for the rest of my life." We went cross-country skiing and night kayaking, both were incredible experiences. Lise was a sensational guide and captured every moment in pics. Last for the day, we stayed up to watch the Northern Lights and Lise came out with a moose skin to lay on the snow to keep us warm while we gazed up at the stars. We awoke to a delicious breakfast, then were out in the water again to kayak checking out the small islands, seals and scenery. We sadly packed up wishing we had booked for longer. Truly an AMAZING experience with the most wonderful, strongest, and kindest guide. We will be back!!!

We stayed for three days in mid February with Lise in her camp. Initially, we were surprised that everything is much more comfortable than "living in a yurt during winter" might suggest. You certainly don't need to be afraid to turn into a bloc of ice.
Bring warm clothes though, because you certainly don't want to miss out on the activities outside! We went kayaking & snowshoe-hiking under northern lights (lucky as we were with the weather), cross-country skiing, more kayaking and visited a local Sami reindeer herder. And we ate veeeery well! We wanted activities in nature, and that's exactly what we got. It was awesome and something I will remember for many years to come. Seriously, this trip/experience is very hard to beat.
You also don't have to ponder about how you should prepare yourself for the activities in terms of gear. Bring warm clothes. Lise has the rest of the equipment on site and much of it is brand new.
The accommodation and the living area are quite new, clean and very cozy, once you have the stove burning. Most of the time during which were not busy paddling through icy waters we spent together with Lise in the 'boat house' (the communal kitchen / living area). We prepared our meals together and that is, in my opinion, part of the experience. You do the activities together, you share the meals, laughter and stories. It's about (in our case a small) community. With regard to that, I want to highlight that Lise is an excellent host and a great human being - good-natured, curious about her guests and their experiences, open and emphatic.
Regarding the trips we made: I always felt safe. Most probably, because Lise made sure to constantly communicate with us. Be it about our general safety, plans remaining stamina, hunger, thirst, cold, warm etc.
To give an example for context: When we were out kayaking, she made sure that we always stayed very close together. Initially, it was a bit confusing that she kept us on a relatively "tight leash" if you consider normal kayaking on a lake in warm weather... but we were neither on a small lake, nor was the water or the air warm. Everything was covered in 50+ cm of snow... and it was night. This surely decreases the "safe distance from one another" to help should someone capsize. We did initially not think about this, inexperienced as we are, but Lise did (obviously).
The good thing about these trips is that Lise is flexible and will adjust to your capabilities and motivation. Don't want to paddle but watch the aurora? No problem. Want to make a more challenging ski trip and want to feel completely exhausted at the end of the day? Lise provides.
And for the fellow folks living in a city like I do... the quiet out there! Just the water and the wind.... sooo gooood!

If you need a break, or want to experience something unique and different, close to the nature, far from the crowd, this is for you.
Lise runs this camp with her heart and passion.
We did kayaking ( night and day), cross-country skiing and we were lucky to have a northern lights show for 2 hours. We also enjoyed the food very much, with really good products that Lise cooked for us. Lise has an impressive amount of equipment in perfect condition, which makes you feel comfortable and safe at all time.
This is an experience we won’t forget.

This is your chance to have a personal guide whilst kayaking in the Arctic Circle. It is 100% worth it.
Got in touch with Lise to book myself and three friends in for an 2 day 1 night kayaking trip during the Arctic night. She was able to pick us up and drop us off from the centre of Tromsø, which gave us a beautifully scenic drive to the campsite, in which we witnessed a fair bit of wildlife, before enjoying a short boat ride, and some showshoeing to get to the yurt, which was our palace for the night.
We got to go out for a night paddle, which was surreal, before settling in to our cosy yurt with a lovely home cooked meal and great conversation. I have never seen such a thick down duvet, and it felt like sleeping wrapped in a cloud.
The following day allowed us a longer paddle in the twilight in the strait between the outer islands of the Norwegian coast, with some views of sea eagles fishing around us and otters. We were entranced, not just by the beauty of our surroundings, but also by the way the light felt ethereal around us, which it turned out was an effect of the northern lights.
We realised that if Lise asked if you'd like to try something, it was going to be an interesting experience, and over the two days tasted dried fish, Norwegian doughnuts, and warming our hands by pouring hot water into our neoprene gloves (admittedly that last one sounds weird, but super useful to know if paddling in the cold again). She was a wonderful guide with amazing knowledge of the local area, flora and fauna, and we might just book this trip again to see the midnight sun in future.
