Interesting building where you can walk up and down the sloping roof for some good views out onto the Fjord and across the city, although Oslo is not a particularly pretty city. We arrive early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

Its really nice to see this kind of architecture. If you are lucky, on a sunny day you can walk on the roof of the opera. Not sure if this is possible during winter. The view is not incredible.

Just visit and look. Pop inside if you must to see, but the roof is the main attraction. Just stroll by!

The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet building is beautiful. This beautiful modern building opened about 10 years ago in 2008 so it's fairly new. There is a cafe and the gift shop inside and anyone can enter into the building without a ticket. You can...More

The opera house in Oslo is so nice. You can go there to watch some ballet or you can just simply go there for a walk, sit down at the top of the building to enjoy the view of the Oslo fjord. Enjoy it!

This building is spectacular! I was here in the winter and unfortunately not when there was a show, but you must take half an hour to go inside just to see the amazing architecture. The views are fantastic; you can walk onto the roof, indeed...More

The architecture is beautiful. If you're in the area definitely swing by and take a look at both the interior and exterior. If you go in the winter just be careful when going up the roof as it was quite icy the day we went.

Outstanding building. The architecture in this place is particularly beautiful from the outside and from the inside alike. From the remarkable hall you can also have a look outside the windows and can be a really nice view (depending on the weather/light) on the Oslo...More

No it is free, the building is built in such a way that you can access the roof from the outside! It is broad, and safe, but in the winter it does get a bit slippery! Enjoy the view. Helen
