Small and interesting exhibition

Really interesting and quite small museum. Boats are incredibly, and there are also some other items.

This is a small museum, a 20 minute bus ride out of the centre of Oslo. They have three Viking boats on display; two beautifully preserved, which really causes you to marvel at how far they travelled using them - all the way across the Atlantic to North America. As well as the boats, the museum has lots of interesting... More

Smallest museum in history. Paid NOK 100, and saw everything in under a minute. Don't feel bad if you can't get there on an Oslo visit

This is the only place to visit, with real vikings staff. However you need a bus or taxi to get there, which makes the visit expensive. You can still combine it with another museum at this part of the city.

Great to see the ships and the artifacts they found. You would probably head round in 45 mins. Your ticket also gets you access to the historical museum.

The viking ships for burring. The exhibition involves many funerary goods, decorations, daily commodities, axis, fabrics etc. If you have beards, buy beards cosmetics at the shop! The shop has memorial coins which you can get only there.

The museum building is a Jungenstihl masterpiece, and once inside if you have any interest in the Vikings or History in general you will be a happy bunny. 4 Viking Ships are housed in the museum along with a host of Viking carts, tools, weapons and jewellery. All the exhibits are over 1000 years old and were found in the... More

We had a good time, learn a thing of two from this museum. Though small but compact with information.

Still a well managed with high quality of care taking, I could feel the same imagination like my first visit last 25 years. Well maintenance of Viking ships and man crafts sledges, another must see museum as you won't find it anywhere.

I moved through this museum in about 30 minutes which included reading all of the information plaques and taking photos. Only 3 ships and one other section that has trinkets and other things found with the ships. Positive is that the ticket is valid for the Historical Museum as well within 48 hrs. Student ticket 80kr ~ Regular 100kr
