Knowing nothing about the Norwegian Resistance movement during WW II, I found the museum to be fascinating and educational. It is larger than I thought so I spent more time there than planned. It was worth it! If you have an interest in WW II, you need to visit this museum. This visit resulted in me doing more reading about... More

This museum is located within the Akershus Fortress area, and an easy walk from central Oslo. The admission price is less than most area museums. Though the facilities and displays are a bit dated, the museum tells the story of the occupation of Norway during WWII, which was a piece of history I hadn't been aware of previously. Bringing this... More

This museum is more extensive than it looks from the outside. it really puts into perspective the importance of the Norwegian resistance and the relation with Britain

How much history do you know about how brave and bold the Norwegians were during World War II? I knew next to nothing, I had heard about the French Resistance, but not about the people of Norway. In a compact space the struggle from the beginning of the war to the end is displayed in an informative, educational, visually attractive... More

They show you very interesting things about the war. You learn a lot about Oslo's history and how they tried to protect their land. Everywhere are windows with little dolls to show how the city or a specific part of Oslo looked after a bomb attack or other scenes. All in all a very good museum.

I think you'd probably get more from this if you spoke Norwegian but it was very interesting - when you first enter it looks small but that is a misnomer as there's 3 large floors which takes you on a chronological journey through the time - if you're having a look around the castle I would definitely stop in

Actually I left the last 20% out as I had information overload by that time but was glad to have visited. Not for young children .... too much dense information & lots of... More
