Must be great during summer, but nothing wrong wondering the grounds in December either. I found this place calming and sculptures which were very clever in nature were fun to spot. Just very lovely sight by the sea.

A good view from the top. There's a new coffee shop with tables. A must on a summers day. Take in the sunset.

If you go to DisneyWorld, their version of Akershus is not quite like the real thing. Worth the trip.

This is the first thing I've visited when arrived in Oslo. The view on the fjord is incredible! Easy to reach, really recommended

Whether you are a local or a tourist you will find it hard not to enjoy looking out at the ships arriving and leaving to Aker Brygge while enjoying a lunch. Even though in this fortress was built prior to the existence of Norway it is a stunning representation of the Scandinavian cultures. One of the better things that you can visit in this amazing city and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!

This was a lovely fortress to visit and the audio guide was included in the price which made the tour around the fortress a lot easier and more entertaining. The audio guide included optional ghost stories and facts as well as historical context. There was also a stunning view from the hill it was built on!

Located in Oslo’s center and close by the water, this is a beautiful place to discover Norway’s military and royal history. The greens are great for a picnic, but the museums inside are what may feed your appetite even more.

Akershus Fortress dates back to 1624, and is located near the water. Its location close to the City centre puts it in easy walking distance from most parts of the city. The preservation of the historical buildings is excellent. The outdoor areas are clean, very well maintained with may great photo opportunities. In my opinion a visit requires at least... More
