When an art museum is able to impress a non-art aficionado such as myself, I think it it's doing a great job of sparking interest in and advancing art. This museum is a perfect size--you can easily see it in a morning or afternoon if...More

This is one of my favorite places in Oslo! I love the modern paintings but also the Thomas Fearnley gallery. It's amazing to see the nature of Norway depicted so powerfully. Joy!

Really enjoyed our visit here - lots of lovely paintings and you are allowed to photograph them so long as you don't use a flash. Would highly recommend as it is not too large but is divided into colour coded sections to make it easy...More

One gets a lot insight into a country/culture through exposure to its art over time. There is more here than just the big name, and it is worth looking at.

The Scream painting was at the National Gallery when I visited and it was totally worth it. The painting was awesome to experience and the other portraits were also quite stunning.

Yes but you must book it in advance. It is only available certain times of the week.
I would like to see just the highlights of the National Museum as I don't have much time. Can I get a list of the top ten? Does the museum offer a pamphlet of that. Thanks - Anne

You can jump into the last hall where the famous Scream and Mund's paintings are. Cannot remember if it is room 23 or 25. You can ask the staff along the hall there but I don't think I saw any leaflet suggesting the top... More
