This is a good and nice alternative to travel from Oslo to Bergen, or some of the fine mountain stations, to Explorer more of the mice mountain.

A half day journey across lakes, rivers, fjords, mountains and glaciers. We were fortunate to be able to travel on a warm sunny day in September, The train starts by travelling across lakes and fjords at sea level before climbing into the mountains where snow and ice are still visible at the end of summer. Numerous picturesque vistas of lakes... More

You should try cycling the Rallar road. Even more amazing nature:-):-) No tunnels, just mountains, lovely lakes, canions and all on your bike. Everyone should have it on their bucket list:-):-)

Very comfortable train. Lovely scenery. We took the train as far as Myrdal up in the mountains and transferred to the Flåm Railway. This takes you from 3000 ft down to sea level on Aurland Fjord. Next day ferry to Bergen ( 6 hours)

We took an exchange student on this trip including Norway in a nuthshell. It was a nice trip over the mountain but the prices are a bit high onboard. Would also wish for the opurtunity to step of and have a look at the sights

The train of course left right on time and within minutes you are surrounded by forest. The trees soon are climbing the steep slopes of a mountain or seem to be falling away on the other side. As the mountains seem to move away there are lakes, streams or rushing rivers. Waterfalls, seeming to spring out of the sides of... More

We took this train from Oslo S to Bergen to board our cruise ship. It was a long journey but the train was comfortable and the scenery will have you taking many photos along the way. We saw pristine rivers, waterfalls and snow capped mountains in the middle of summer. It was a great way to see the Norwegian countryside.... More

A long trip from Oslo to Voss but through some magical scenery. Most seats are front facing. Reasonably comfortable, with reclining backs and with good leg room. Canteen on board. Modest choice. Prices similar to those in town

We rode from Oslo to Myrdal and then got on the incredible Flam railway. The scenery cannot be beat on this train journey! From Oslo, get a seat on the left side of the train to have the best views of the Hardanger glacier when you get to Finse. The dining car is pricey, but has a good hot dog!
