This statue is located between many other sights, making it interesting as a part of a city tour - but stading alone I would not prioritize this statue. I would rather take the harbourwalk from the Otra river, via Tangen, the Aquarama, the city beach, the Fortress and ending at Kilden Opera House. You'll pass mister Balchen on the tour.

Balchen was a Norwegian citizen who fought for his own Army and Air Force, the Finnish militia and the French Foreign Legion. He was also an accomplished pilot, explorer, Arctic explorer and aviation pioneer. Attaining... More
