I booked this hike on line 2 months before our trip making it very easy to plan ahead. The description was just as they said, that it was a remote hike away from the crowds. The advice on what to have with you was also accurate. There were 8 participants in the group, with 2 guides. They picked us up at the meeting place and we drove about 40minutes out of Bergen, with some lovely views along the way. We did stop at one point at a very small village at the grocery store/ library to use the bathroom or pick up snacks if needed. The hike was moderately challenging for my husband and I, in our mid 60s, in good health and exercise regularly. At a mid point of the hike we were offered to go either a more challenging route to one peak, or a slightly less challenging but still beautiful peak. We chose the slightly easier route with 3 others and each group had its own guide. The other participants were of similar age and younger. The views throughout the hike were beautiful! You are above tree line so can see in all directions to the fjords surrounding this very large island. The many small ponds, streams, and fields were so pretty making for a delightful landscape. The guides were able to tell us about local flora and fauna, as well as some history of the area. They are very obviously in love with being in the outdoors and know the area well. They provided some traditional Norwegian snacks at the top which was very nice. We did bring our own sandwiches as well and had worked up a big appetite. Plus bring our own water. Good trail shoes are a must, there is some rock scrambling, rock hopping and wet conditions, and steep areas so a good grippy shoe is important. It was an outstanding way to experience the natural beauty of Norway. I was so pleased with the guides and the hike!
