Part of a city tour organised by Jules Verne because the Hanseatic Museum was closed. I'm not sure I would have gone on it if viewing the city independently; the views were indeed very fine, but it was a short chug up a hillside to...More

If there is only one thing you achieve in Bergen, it is to take the funicular up Mount Floyen to enjoy the view back over Bergen. This really puts the city into perspective. We were lucky to take an early funicular on our visit as...More

Fantastic views from the top - worth the trip. There are also walks to the lake which are equally as pretty as the views themselves. There is also a coffee shop and restaurant at the top but we did not use these.

The furnicular is a great ride and the view across Bergen is panoramic. The best part though is the extensive walking tracks behind. This was magical, just after a snow storm and still and beautiful. Don’t miss it.

Take the funicular up, but if you are in the condition please please do walk down on foot! The park is beautiful and starting midway down you will be walking through narrow streets, seing the Bergen like a local!
