Great escape from the city life in beautiful open mountain landscape. Normally it takes you four hours to hike from the top of Mt. Ulriken to Mt. Fløien. Must do for nature lovers. Often hiked by locals.

very nice views back to Bergen and the fjords on one side and the mountains on the other. Can be completed with kids, but there is only one basic place to stop for a drink or small snack

The hike started out nice, but within a few kilometers of Floyen, the signs started to thin out and we took a long turn and got lost. After about an hour we finally got back on track. By this time it was rainy and cold....More

We did the walk counter clockwise starting at the cable car station and ending at the funicular. With the sustained down hill period at the end of our walk we were glad to do it that way. It took 4.5 hours from station to station....More

13 miles of beautiful scenery! It was the best part of the trip! This is definitely not for those who complain walking. You need a good pair of shoes cause at one point we were kinda rock climbing. Dogs are welcome. Come on a sunny...More

This is a full day affair and will take some moderate planning to achieve and enjoy. You will need some good hiking/walking clothes, lots of water and a little bit of physical capability. I would allow for 6 or 7 hours to go across the...More

The Floibanen furnicular leaves from just behind Bryggen area (near McDonald's and Starbucks) for 45kr one-way. Once at the top of Floyen, you can choose your walk from there, no need to register. Most walks are well signed... More

You can go any time of year, but in the winter the sunlight lasts shorter, and IT can be mighty cold. Wear wind jackets and really warm clothes, gloves and wool mittens. Be prepared! But winter can be even nicer than summer... More
