A perfect run around and up to Aksla
Jul 2020
The path around Aksla on the left side from Byparken is really nice for both running and walking, and you’ll most likely have it for yourself.
- One option is to take up to the right when you see the sign to the stadium, a really nice and steep path with man made stairs and well located seats with fantastic fiord views. (Such a great job by local neighbourhood groups <3)
- Another path continues all the way to Gangstøvikvegen, and from an info map there you follow smaller paths up into the woods. In both occasions you’ll pass both the stadium and the radio tower on top, and you can go down the more touristic steps straight downtown.

Lovely Harbour Area
Jul 2019 • Couples
As you wonder around the old harbour area you will discover some fine old buildings along the water front, very quaint, and well worth exploring.

A typical Norwegian port, very picturesque
Feb 2019 • Friends
Like most people who visit here we were on a Hurtigruten trip and this is one of the stops that are a bit longer. It is a short walk from the terminal to the twon and it really is very pretty with a lot of art deco buildings due to the fire and its history.

Picturesque Alesund

A beautiful, peaceful city on a mountain-hill by the water and guarded by scenic mountains. I was here on a work assignment, had to get up early to get a ferry to work and then return once again in fading light. The area is great for hiking but dress warmly.

Short visit but still worth it
Jun 2018 • Solo
I was in a cruise and we only stopped for half an hour past midnight in Ålesund. It was drizzling but the city is too pretty to miss..thanks too to the midnight sun..just walking around enjoying the lights and the buildings at the pier was also v delightful.

A place to relax and enjoy a beautiful walk in nature on a path close to town.
Sep 2017 • Friends
This is a road/path for walking in the nature behind our town mountain. Locals know where it is, others must ask direction. It's peaceful and quiet surrounded by nature. There are signs telling directions and sights to see.
During the 1930ies times were not good due to ressesion in Europe. Many were unemployed. To make ends meet the society in town set the men to build this road/path. They got work and salary, which was much appriciated.
Later it became a road for Sunday strolls. The road is still kept in order and locals go jogging or bring their kids for a safe trip in nature.
Pease and quietness and beautiful nature with a view of the sea.
