Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely clean sandy beach. A lovely day out with the family. Plenty of parking, the surrounding toilets had not opened yet but luckily had a potty for the 4 year old to use in the car.

We had a lovely morning as a family building sand castles, collecting stones and a bit of swimming in the sea.

Away from the promenade and at the end of the residential area of Llandudno. More a locals area than tourist. Sea more bracing and wild. Nice cafe - The Beach Cafe - tucked up in the corner. Serving Home made cakes, soups, lightbites. Friendly propriator Open Wednesday til Sunday, Was Busy when we went in on Saturday mid morning.

We were lucky enough to visit Llandudno during the heatwave in July & we wanted a pretty, quiet sandy beach. West Shore was perfect for this with the lovely view of the mountains across & the clean light sand. The sea was calm though we were wary of jelly fish, there didn't appear to be many fortunately. We managed to park on the road nearby for free & carried our folding chairs & umbrella to the beach, there's also pay toilet cubicles & a children's park, there's a quiet residential road opposite. With it being so hot you could close your eyes, dig your toes in the sand & pretend you were abroad !! We enjoyed relaxing & having a paddle & would definitely recommend West Shore beach.

We drove to find this and had a lovely long walk along the path by this beach. Although it was a cold Saturday in January, there were plenty people about enjoying the fresh air. Plenty of seating, free parking and the only downside was that the cafe wasn't open for a hot chocolate.

Great for dogs to play on - with caveats....

Dogs were only allowed at the far end of the beach ( Great Orme end ), and if the tide is in there is limited space if busy but when the tide is out there are literally acres of space.

Facilities are limited and you have to do your best to find street parking that does not inconvenience residents - nothing is worse than inconsiderate parking.

Llandudno's West shore and beach is much more relaxed and picturesque than the busier, more commercial North shore. Fantastic views of Conway estuary and Snowdonia in distance. Great Orme to the right. Preferable if you're looking to get closer to nature. Clean sand, dunes, pebbles and clear water.

Just a few minutes walk from the bustle of Llandudno promenade is the West shore.

This is far more unassuming and curves round through Deganwy to Conwy. There is a cafe and you walk along the mixture of sand and stone.

The water is crystal clear though the weather appears to change very quickly as cloud rolls off and on Conwy mountain but lovely views and a pleasant walk

We were visiting Llandudno and were disappointed with North Shore beach at first, so we went to West Shore hoping to find some sand to sit on and chill - and low and behold - there was lots of it! A beautiful beach which was extremely clean and tidy. It was fairly quiet when we went and the tide was out so we had a short paddle. This is the kind of beach to lounge on all day in the sunshine. The views around are beautiful, and there is a trail located nearby that takes you up the mountain. We didn’t stay for too long however we have said that next time we visit Llandudno we shall spend at least 1 day here! The only thing that would make this beach better is facilities nearby.

As this beach looks out at the Atlantic it can at times be cold and windy even on a summers hot day. We spent a good amount of time here at this beach on our beach day and found it perfect for us. Very quiet and socially distanced. We went for a wander to the North Beach and found it heaving with people who were not social distance. There is also tonnes of free parking on the West Coast so no need to worry about paying for parking!

Driving back from the loop around Great Orme, stopped off to enjoy the quieter West Shore Beach away from Llandudno town centre.
Lots of parking and sand on the beach.
Nice in the sun.
