Lovely little statue in the centre of Ipswich. It adds a nice local touch to the town, it's worth taking a look.

It's quirky and it certainly does look like Giles' most memorable of characters. Even it's plinth is nice and the setting has become, over the years, quite a pleasant town centre spot.

Nice to have a statue put in place to commemorate a local celebrity. Ideally situated on the junction of major pedestrian routes. This is an ideal place for locals to enjoy.

It is nice to think that Giles will be remembered by one of his characters. He was a local celebrate, so may not interest everyone

A very accurate representation of several of Giles's best loved characters. Guaranteed to raise a smile for anyone who remembers the country's favourite cartoonist. Don't miss the gin bottle. The statue is overlooked by his former office window. My wife used to work in a nearby shop, and took him his lunchtime sandwiches.

Carl Giles was a renown cartoonist who made Ipswich, well Witnesham actually, his home and main place of work. This statue sits near to his office and is of some of his fantastic creations. Giles was always topical with his drawings and his humour carried important critical comments. The statue is well worth a visit.

For anyone who remembers the fantastic Giles cartoons from the Daily Express, this statute is a tribute to the local Carl Giles and one of his characters"Grandma". Not worht making a spcial trip but worth looking at if you are in the area close to Barcalsy Bank, Princes Street.
