    An Awesome Family Day Out!
We found this farm park in a Google search of things to do with children in Dorset. What an incredible find! The park was great for our 3 y/o! There were plenty of things to do and everyone was really friendly. On a special note, we went for a tractor ride mid-afternoon. We hadn’t read the schedule and as it turned out, the lst tractor ride was just on its way back before a 90 min break (by which time we would be gone). The driver noticed that our son was upset, came over and offered to take us on the ride to collect the final deer safari children. This was an INCREDIBLE gesture and the highest degree of customer service that any family could ask for. I didn’t catch his name, but he was an absolute legend. It made the day for our family. Thank you so much.
Your review is extra special as you have taken the time to praise one of our team for going above and beyond. Thank you, he will be so pleased he made your day.

    Kids had a fun time
This farm is absolutely lovely, we spent a good few hours here yesterday. It is however very big and the animals are after a huge area of play areas- indoor and outdoor. So there are not many animals in view when you first walk in and the kids were too distracted in playing on the equipment.perhaps more signposts would be helpful. The cafe had good options but only served lunch till 2, the kids were having a late lunch yesterday so we just about made it in time but staff were really helpful and got our food arranged very quick. The portions were massive! My kids enjoyed the dino trail a lot too, the tractor ride was only on once in the morning so we unfortunately missed that. The premises are clean however there were a lot of wasps around which I personally found annoying😫 all the staff were really lovely too.’ Overall a great day, great value for money !
Thank you so very much for a fantastic review. We apologise for the end of summer wasps, that are kicked out of the old bests and have no where to go so can become annoying. Our wasp traps are out to remove them. We are so pleased you loved all we do!

    Best magical Christmas experience EVER!!
Farmer Palmers is such a fantastic place to go any time of year. We love it! Yesterday we went to their twilight Christmas experience (as we do every year) when we think it can’t get any better, somehow every year they make it even better than the time before!! ❤️ The animal team did you proud making the big barn into such a magical place to see the animals. The walk through Christmas experience had so many photo opportunities and you get the perfect amount of time to wander through, and never feel rushed which is exactly what you want to enjoy a Christmas experience. The snow machine & moving reindeer just add to the fun! We always have a laugh at the panto bit and Meeting Farmer Christmas himself is ALWAYS EPIC!!! Loved having the option to have the professional photos as well as our own this year. They were so good we brought the whole package 😁 The kids love having the option of gifts to choose from that magically comes down the chimney! The kids meals that comes with the ticket price was, as always, delicious & the hen house restaurant decorated fab as well. It makes for an all round magical Christmas experience which is why we return every year! The grown ups also love the mulled wine included in the entrance fee 🤭
Wow, thank you for your excellent feedback on the magic we work hard to deliver. Our amazing team have loved every minute looking after you and all the families who have kindly visited. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and cherished New Year. See you in 2024 for a whole lot more!

The best place for families with small children
My girls both love it here, they are 7 & 4! We have been coming since they were small! Always lots to do and fab friendly staff. The food in the cafe is reasonably priced, good quality and delicious. Animals at the farm are all well looked after, and their pens are always clean and tidy. There's lots of seating outside for picnics. It's a brilliant day out for all the family, we can't wait to come back again ✨
We are so happy that you have a fab time with us again and again. We are proud of our team, their attention to detail and we value your visit. Thank you

New water and sand play area
We visited this morning (a friend and I) with our 2 year olds. They have had the best morning playing in the sun, on the the new sand and water area. It was brilliant; they loved the pools, pumps, working out what pump came out where, the water gates stopping the water and then let it flood around the rocks and their sandcastles, and just climbing up and down the levels. We sat there for 2.5 hours because they didn’t want to leave. And even then they didn’t want to leave. It’s great, so thank you!
Hi Sam, thank you so much for this lovely review! The team have worked very hard getting this area ready for your little ones. It is a fantastic way for children to build their physical and motor skills. We hope to have you and your family back to visit us again soon :).

Somewhere to learn, to dream, and to enjoy!
This place is amazing for all ages and interests. As a solo visitor, my preference is animal experiences and photography. The staff are so good with all visitors of any age, and they are very knowledgeable about the animals in their care. The wider farm gets away from the hustle and bustle and offers great opportunities to photograph some beautiful animals and their friends, and even to walk in dreamy woodland and pause for thought by the huge lake. Combine animal feeding and trailer rides and you have an amazing experience feeding the glorious red deer herd. Educational events include talks and demonstrations such as milking cows (reminding our children where their food comes from!) add to the variety. I have been coming here for years. The thoughtful staff, clever layout, and warm welcome ensure I and many other faithful farmpals return year after year!
We are so grateful for your support and look forward to your return visits to see what’s new. We are happy that you get so much joy from the animals, photo opportunities around the farm and the tranquility that the woodland & river offers. Thank you for your review. We know it means a lot to our wonderful team members. Cannot wait to see you when you visit next.

Always a 5 star day out
This place never disappoints. My 3year old has a season ticket here and I think it made her visits about £2 each!!! I don’t know any other attraction that offers endless activities for the same price. She absolutely loves making blocks and playing in the small soft play in the little farmer barn, the indoor bouncy castle and pedal tractors, the big indoor soft play next to the restaurant and being pedalled on the outdoor go karts. It was so lovely to be able to go somewhere so pushchair friendly with her younger brother too and I can’t wait to see his imagination work and make new memories with him over the next few years. If you’re looking for a day out with fresh air, animal interactions, friendly staff, great food, countless undercover entertainment then look no further. You can always guarantee an excellent day no matter the weather, which is a HUGE bonus in the UK.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience of visiting Farmer Palmers with your young family. Our team are focussed on trying to ensure you, as a parent, can have a lovely time interacting with your little ones. Helping & showing them new things and watching their confidence grow as they learn how to navigate through play and new experiences. We very much look forward to being part of your family in the years ahead.

Great day out for younger children
We visited Farmer Palmers over Easter and had a great time. Our 3 year old grandson enjoyed everything the farm had to offer. There was plenty to keep him occupied, tractor ride, indoor soft play, hay barn with slides, small animal feeding and petting, were just some of the activities he loved. There is also a lovely walk through the woods to see the dinosaur trail. Everywhere was very clean and the staff were all welcoming. Food in the cafe was excellent with a good choice. For younger children this is the perfect day out and there is plenty of seating around for picnics etc . We stayed in Farmer Palmers Stable house which was fantastic and can be rented through Rumsey of Sandbanks.
Thanks so very much for your lovely feedback and we are so pleased your grandson had such an enjoyable time.

    Fantastic day out!
I first visited Farmer Palmers with my daughter when she was 11 months and not yet walking, it was my birthday and my Mother came too. We spent most of the day there, playing in the small fun barn, riding the tractors, feeding the goats and sheep, holding a Guinea pig, playing in the sandpit, riding the go carts and going on the beautiful woodland walk/dinosaur trail so she could have a sleep in the pushchair!! She was smiling the whole time so I got an annual pass then. Kids are free until they’re 2 yrs old, so it worked out extremely good value for money!! Well, my daughter is now 2 and a half and we go at least once a week, if not more, sometimes even just for a couple of hours in the morning or afternoon. I’m fortunate to live locally. My mother also takes her there occasionally, she now has an annual pass too! As she’s gotten older and more capable, there is so much more she can do there now, she’s gets so excited when we turn into the Farm Park. The receptionists are always so friendly when they greet us. The restaurant does lovely hot chocolate, amazing cakes and a good range of hot and cold food. It’s always our favourite day of the week at Farmer Palmers, no matter what the weather, and my daughter always comes away happy and tired out!!!
We feel honoured to be part of your daughter’s growing up! Thank you for sharing your family experiences, particularly lovely to hear how she is growing in confidence with regular visits. The team will be so elated to read your review. Looks as though we’ll be seeing you again soon.

Nice farm aimed at little ones
This park is aimed towards younger children, so for our 3 year old it was perfect. There are lots of different areas to play in with soft play, sand, ride ons, bouncy castles, outdoor play park, water play area, animals, go karts and a dinosaur trail. My little boy loves to follow trails, so we bought the trail pack (it has a map, trail book, stickers to put in, a badge and a certificate) and he really enjoyed finding all the dinosaurs. We went on the go karts quite a few times and played in most of the indoor areas. There are lots of hand washing stations and toilet seats for litte ones, which is a nice touch, though cubicles could be a little bit bigger. We spent quite a few hours here and would stop off again if we were passing.
Thank you so much, it is joyful to hear your little boy had so much fun. The dinosaurs are a treat on the stunning woodland river area and to hear your full feedback is great. Our team will love to read your comments.

I am a support worker for adults with a learning disability. It would cost my client £24 to visit. There are no concession and she would have to pay twice to enter with her support worker who she has to have to assess the community.
Long down fairy farm gave a concession so it would cost £5 and the support worker goes free.
We will both spend money in the gift shop and eat in the cafe. Its a no brainer.

Our CBILS loan to be here for you in 2021 is also not fair. Our annual passes cost only 5 visits so best value for regular visitors. We feel the experience has a value. With limited numbers we are not able to offer free places this year.

We visited as 6 adults and 3 young children. The children loved their couple of hours at the farm.
However, we were surprised at the cost of £14 for each adult and each kid over 3. No concessions and no family discounts.
Overall we paid £119 for our visit of 6adults and 3 kids: 5, 4 and 2 year old.
We live in South Wales and have a very much bigger farm park with fantastic play areas, a zoo with large cats, giraffes, monkeys etc, an indoor old fashioned fairground, and even the shop is more substation with reasonable charges. It has lots appeal to adults and children of all ages whilst Farmer Palmer really only entertains young children. The entry fee is only a couple of pounds more than Farmer Palmer.
Oops, I really should keep it secret, as we won’t want everyone knowing!

Very nice day out with the kids. Lots to do. We went on a warm day which was good as there isn’t too much inside!

Good points:

The maze
The racing pigs
Nature walk
Park
Animals outside

Bad points:

Indoor slide area far too busy (no good with Covid around!). Also people didn’t read the one & only small sign saying for children to remove shoes before going on.

One huge animal barn had guinea pigs and no other animal......

Food extremely expensive like everywhere so I would always recommend to take sandwiches with you.

Overall the day out was cracking and hopefully farmer palmers takes on some of our comments.

Will be back again next year 😊

Thank you so much. Our old animal ar was too small to be Covid safe but we left the guineas in their home so children could see, the rest live outside this summer. We take on board your other points.

This is the second time we’ve visited and there have been some great additions introduced - the nature trail is now a dinosaur trail which is great fun for the kids. Great opportunity for children to get up and close to the animals in a controlled environment with goat feeding and “meet a guinea pig”. We did the maize maze, watched the pig race, had fun in the soft play, rode the pedal go-karts, had time on the bouncy castle, played in the sand and went down the slides. Really good value for money for a full day of wholesome family fun. The only thing we paid extra for was a tractor ride (£1 per person). The on-site cafe is really good value too, fresh and delicious food, including cakes which was all reasonably priced given they have a captive audience. Lots of outside seating areas too for those wanting to take their own picnic too.

We were visiting the area and come across Farmer Palmer's when we were looking for somewhere for the family to enjoy a special birthday day out. A minor booking in problem was quickly resolved by Zena who was, welcoming and friendly and she should be commended on her customer service skills 😊 There was plenty of Animals, play parks and activities to keep our 2 year old busy! COVID measures are very good, sanitising and hand washing stations and social distancing encouraged throughout. We enjoyed a nice lunch at the reasonably priced cafe onsite and the only other extra was a minimal charge for the bumpy tractor ride. Some activities were not available this time but we will be back! Many thanks Zena and all at Farmer Palmer's 😊

We took our 16 month here while on holiday and it's one of the best places we have visited with him. Everything is aimed with young children in mind. He loved playing in the play areas and looking at all the animals.
We didn't even take advantage of all the areas and he was still completely worn out, he even slept in the car after which hasn't happened since he was a baby!

We all enjoyed the dinosaur trail, the food and drink in the cafe are reasonably priced and tasty and given the times the park felt safe.

My husband wants to come back to the area next year just so we can bring him back here, he will be older and probably enjoy it even more.

We went on a week day with our 3 and a half year old. Best day out and best farm we’ve been to - ever!
I used to go there as a child and I’m now 31! My son had an ‘amazing day’ his words.
All animals accessible, with the pig racing and goat feeding top of the bill.
Thoroughly recommend it to all ages.

We visited this week with our two girls (5 and 2), it was our first visit since social distancing started and we were so impressed. It was incredible clean and they had lots of measures in place to support social distancing. It was clear they had thought very carefully about how to keep everyone safe whilst still providing lots of fun activites for the family. We fed the goats, had a tractor ride and enjoyed all the play facilities. We saw constant cleaning taking place...even someone spraying in the bins and the cafe and toilets were exceptionally clean. The morning session gave us the perfect amount of time to enjoy everything without being too rushed and it never felt particularly busy or crowded. Well done Farmer Palmers, still a great day out for all!

We spent the day here with our friends - 4 adults and 3 children under 4. We had the BEST day!! We come to farmer palmers every year and thought we’d visit during Easter weekend. We had great fun on the tractor ride using water pistols to get the ‘bandit bunnies’! The Easter egg hunt was great fun too. Everything is so well organised and all the staff are absolutely brilliant. It was great to see them dressed up for Easter and they looked like they were having so much fun, which really adds to the atmosphere. Our children especially loved feeding the goats and holding the Guinea pigs. We purchased some delicious cakes from the cafe, and there was a huge selection of food and drinks at very reasonable prices. A lot of thought has gone into making farmer palmers family friendly - such as low sinks for children and additional child toilet seats. I wish more places were like this! We will certainly visit again, it is one of our favourite family days out. You can easily spend all day here and it is well worth the money. Thank you everyone at farmer palmers!

So we really wanted a day out for our daughters birthday to purely see some animals, we was all pretty disappointed because once you walk into the park and blink it’s over. There was 1 pig, 1 calf and some small fluffies like rabbits. However there was a deer feeding tractor ride which was nice however, you did need to pay extra for this and queue. It’s not a bad place if you want to meet up with a friend for a coffee whilst your kids play because this park is just one big soft play - The cafe food did look good however, do get in quick as by the time 12.30 came lots of things were not available anymore so we ate at home. The price to get in is crazy considering the lack of animals. We should have gone to the local soft play for a total of £3 rather than the £45 for 2 adults and a child. We spent around 10-15 minutes seeing the animals and a good 45 minutes in the soft play/bouncy castles and we were ready to leave really. Kingston Maurward isn’t too far with free entry, lots of animals, a play park and free soft play :D whenever we have gone here everyone has donated, bought lunch on site, bought things in the gift shop etc..I’ve not wanted to post this due to the unprofessional and rude responses from the park to other reviews which really speaks volumes for the park’s values. This isn’t a dig, I just think a name change like palmers park would help or lowering the entrance fee.

Thank you for visiting. I am so sorry that you feel that we were not quite what you were looking for. Did your daughter not want to play? We are all about the play areas inside and out, music, pedal tractors etc. Designed for children, 8 and under having a full day out. You don’t mention any of the outside animals in the grass areas. Rheas, pigs outside, ponies, donkeys, sheep turkeys, goats, chickens, cows and Dexter’s, in fact our official animal count is over 200. We love Kingston Maurward too and have apprentices and work experience students from there so they must feel we have enough to train their students. You don’t mention the Dinosaur trail in the woodland, I hope your daughter got to see them and you enjoyed the calm tranquility next to the river. I know you are not having a dig but we are the original farmers since 1961 and still farm land not open to the public so will have to agree to disagree on that point. This is the first contact we have had with you so I hope my explanation goes some way to clarify some of your key points raised,
