- jarvisBanbury, United Kingdom5 contributionsLovely animals but overpricedWe had a fun morning however very over priced for what is it , also had to pay extra once in for face painting and tractor ride! We went in at the opening time and was finished by 11.30.. We thought there would be more contact with the animals.. The animals looked well looked after and you can tell the staff really care for them :-)Thank you for your feedback. The timetable of animal events runs all day and our pony grooming is usually around lunchtime, we are sorry if you missed anything and did not feel you had full value for moneyWritten 16 April 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 14 April 2023

The activities were really good and varied and my son really enjoyed himself I could not help but think that at almost double the price, some of the costs could be absorbed by the entry fee, as Longdown manage tractor rides for no extra costs alsoThank you so much for your comments. We know and love Bryan at Longdown and understand that they are smaller attraction and will have smaller running costs as and have less undercover activities and do not have 70 employees. That said we always pre visit mention the optional extras you can do and recommend if you arrive soon after 9.30 and stay till 5 you will see the value for money.Written 27 October 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 24 October 2023

Older lady was rude asked her a question about the Christmas activities that where going to happen on the park, and she rudely spoke to me like i was dumb “urr what do you mean Christmas activities” and then rolled her eyes! I don't feel happy returning after being greeted like this.We apologise that our team member may have been clarifying your question between our Christmas events or our hands on animal activities timetable at Christmas. Hopefully she was able to explain we start our Christmas events on the weekend of the 9th December and our animal activities timetable may not have been set yet according to the needs of the animals. Farmer Palmer's is a lovely day out. Lots of animals to see, most are happy to come to the fence to be stroked. Lots of activities on throughout the day, clean toilets.
Plenty of indoor and outdoor play space, so still enough to keep the children busy on a rainy day

Brilliant. So many different things to see and do and everything is nicely done. Plenty of inside play areas for rainy days too. Halloween tractor ride was a hoot!

Sadly we are not a charity like the zoo, and we have to charge 20% VAT on every £1 we work hard to take. If all attractions were zero rated customers would be able to make fair comparisons.
Thank you for visiting us and the team will be pleased to know you enjoyed your day.

This farm is absolutely lovely, we spent a good few hours here yesterday. It is however very big and the animals are after a huge area of play areas- indoor and outdoor. So there are not many animals in view when you first walk in and the kids were too distracted in playing on the equipment.perhaps more signposts would be helpful.
The cafe had good options but only served lunch till 2, the kids were having a late lunch yesterday so we just about made it in time but staff were really helpful and got our food arranged very quick. The portions were massive!
My kids enjoyed the dino trail a lot too, the tractor ride was only on once in the morning so we unfortunately missed that. The premises are clean however there were a lot of wasps around which I personally found annoying😫 all the staff were really lovely too.’
Overall a great day, great value for money !

Thank you so very much for a fantastic review.
We apologise for the end of summer wasps, that are kicked out of the old bests and have no where to go so can become annoying. Our wasp traps are out to remove them.
We are so pleased you loved all we do!

We found this farm park in a Google search of things to do with children in Dorset. What an incredible find! The park was great for our 3 y/o! There were plenty of things to do and everyone was really friendly. On a special note, we went for a tractor ride mid-afternoon. We hadn’t read the schedule and as it turned out, the lst tractor ride was just on its way back before a 90 min break (by which time we would be gone). The driver noticed that our son was upset, came over and offered to take us on the ride to collect the final deer safari children. This was an INCREDIBLE gesture and the highest degree of customer service that any family could ask for. I didn’t catch his name, but he was an absolute legend. It made the day for our family. Thank you so much.

Not worth the money, there was not much to do there, also had to pay extra the short tractor ride which should be included in the price.

There is plenty for the 5yr old. If your 11yr old lives animals and values family time they will be happy although much is designed for 8and under

What is disabled/wheelchair access like?
fpfporganford
Poole, UK1 contribution
Hi Laura,
We have disabled parking, ramps, wide doorways and concrete or hard gravel tracks. Disabled friendly team
Once you pay to get in to the park is there anything inside that requires money to do i.e. The tractor ride or is it all included in the entrance fee
fpfporganford
Poole, UK1 contribution
Thank you so much for your question. Our Daily Activities page on our farmerpalmers web page
has the main timetable of events including our full list of free activities.
We have optional extras in addition to the admission price (which is comparitively reasonable with other attractions in the area).
The tractor ride is £1 per bottom on seat
At more popular times (weekends and school holidays) there are pony rides which are £3.00 per child/per go. Deer safari runs at £2.00 per person is during the same times.
All of the guineapig handling, trotter time, milking demo, lamb or goat feeding, pony grooming are free.
Hope this helps.

Do you allow dogs to your attraction?
fpfporganford
Poole, UK1 contribution
Sadly we do not allow dogs inside the Farm Park but we have two kennels which are solid wire construction and half shaded, place near trees, in the car park. They are secured with a padlock and you can come and go to check on your dog as often as you like during the day.
They are free and on a first come, first served basis.
Hope this helps
Is there anything to do at farmer palmers when it rains?
fpfporganford
Poole, UK1 contribution
Hi, thank you for enquiring and to our cutomers who have responded. The Little Farmer's Fun Barn, Indoor Soft Play, Pedal Tractors, an indoor bouncy castle and most of the animal events are indoors. The areas inbetween are concrete so wellies optional!
