- Nanette1 contributionFabulous Family AttractionWe are annual pass holders and have been coming to the farm for years. Having an annual pass makes it such great value for money and we will always eat in the restaurant which offers good sized portions of lovely food at really reasonable prices. We can easily spend the whole day there playing in the play areas, soft play, on the dinosaur walks, throwing in the occasional animal area visit so the kids remember it is a farm. We also love the effort they go to for the various seasons and holidays, with the decorations and events they run. We visited today and got to see the new big barn which is beautiful. They have thought of everything, from goat swings to the sides of the animal areas being clear so the smaller children can see through. My eldest also loves to see Farmer Palmer walking around. He thinks he is very lucky to eat the restaurant food every day and we saw him today with the goats. We shall certainly continue renewing our passes!Thank you for taking the time to give such a lovely review. Our team values your feedback and understand that, as pass holders, you see all of the effort that goes into our exciting new ventures first. Our restaurant team create lovely food from scratch, with pride. Your son is right, eating in the restaurant is a joy.Written 16 April 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 1 April 2023
- Troy T1 contributionAmazing day for all agesI went to Farmer Palmers on the Easter weekend and it was brilliant! It wasn’t over crowded meaning we could see / do everything we wanted. The tractor ride and the Easter surprise was great too, would certainly recommend. All of the staff were really friendly and knowledgeable about the animals. Especially I believe it was farmer Fred. It was nice to see a young lad show care and passion for his work! Will certainly be returningYour lovely words has put a smile on our faces. Thank you for sharing your experience with others. - Darren R2 contributionsGreat day outWhat a fantastic day out, we have a 2 year old and a 5 year old and often find places like this cater well for the 5 year old but there is nothing for the 2 year old to do. I am pleased to say farmer Palmers have something for all ages. Both children found the whole day out full of great things to do. From animal feeding to tractor rides as a parent I even learnt a thing or two. The jewel in the crown is definitely the staff who we found to be really helpful and really engaging with the children. Farmer Josh (sorry if I have your name wrong) could see that our youngest was enthralled with the sheep and took the time out to bring one over and let him stroke it while telling him all about wool and animal care. The same farmer took us on the tractor ride which was turned from a simple ride in a tractor trailer into an exciting adventure for the children. All in all a great day out and well worth the fee when you consider what is on offer. Well Done farmer Palmer and thank you for an amazing day.Thank you so very much for your review. - ButlerGW3 contributionsFab Day At Farmer Palmers! We visited Farmer Palmers 02/06/23 and really enjoyed our day. There were lots of activities to keep all of the family entertained and especially the kart track for the big kids like me! We loved seeing all the animals and I particularly enjoyed seeing the cows and my partner enjoyed the racing pigs. All staff were very polite and helpful and as mentioned in earlier reviews, it was a particular highlight to meet and chat with Tyler, a very polite and knowledgeable young man who took the time to explain about the animals so it was both a fun and learning experience, a credit to your team! We always visit if we can when in the Dorset area and will be back for sure, many thanks! 😀👍 Best Wishes from Gaz, Han, Sophie and OliverThank you so much for highlighting our fantastic team members and Tyler’s enthusiasm and passion for his job. Connecting with your inner child has always been something we encourage, play is good for us all. I will forward your wonderful words to our team. thank you again.Written 3 June 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 2 June 2023
- KirbyJC42 contributionsGreat Day OutWe had a fantastic time at Farmer Palmer’s. We visited with a 4 year old and 2 year old and they were overwhelmed; there is so much for them to see and do they didn’t know where to turn. The park is well maintained and the animals are clearly very well looked after. All the staff we encountered were extremely enthusiastic and we particularly loved chatting to Fred who took the time to talk to us about the many animals on the farm. The food served at the cafe was delicious and good value for money. All facilities were clean and well maintained. The karting track, dinosaur trail and boot slide were particular favourites with our kids! We had a great day and will definitely be returning.Thank you so very much for your kind comments and the team will be so happy to hear what your children enjoyed the most. So much for the children to enjoy , everywhere is well kept , the animals are clearly very well looked after , the staff are lovely . Toilets are really clean. The tractor ride was good fun, good variety of things in the play areas for the children to enjoy. My son really enjoyed holding the Guinea pigs and feeding the animals. - Jeremy HLondon, United Kingdom179 contributionsAn Awesome Family Day Out!We found this farm park in a Google search of things to do with children in Dorset. What an incredible find! The park was great for our 3 y/o! There were plenty of things to do and everyone was really friendly. On a special note, we went for a tractor ride mid-afternoon. We hadn’t read the schedule and as it turned out, the lst tractor ride was just on its way back before a 90 min break (by which time we would be gone). The driver noticed that our son was upset, came over and offered to take us on the ride to collect the final deer safari children. This was an INCREDIBLE gesture and the highest degree of customer service that any family could ask for. I didn’t catch his name, but he was an absolute legend. It made the day for our family. Thank you so much.Your review is extra special as you have taken the time to praise one of our team for going above and beyond. Thank you, he will be so pleased he made your day.Written 31 August 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 30 August 2023
- Nicky6 contributionsKids had a fun timeThis farm is absolutely lovely, we spent a good few hours here yesterday. It is however very big and the animals are after a huge area of play areas- indoor and outdoor. So there are not many animals in view when you first walk in and the kids were too distracted in playing on the equipment.perhaps more signposts would be helpful. The cafe had good options but only served lunch till 2, the kids were having a late lunch yesterday so we just about made it in time but staff were really helpful and got our food arranged very quick. The portions were massive! My kids enjoyed the dino trail a lot too, the tractor ride was only on once in the morning so we unfortunately missed that. The premises are clean however there were a lot of wasps around which I personally found annoying😫 all the staff were really lovely too.’ Overall a great day, great value for money !Thank you so very much for a fantastic review. We apologise for the end of summer wasps, that are kicked out of the old bests and have no where to go so can become annoying. Our wasp traps are out to remove them. We are so pleased you loved all we do!Written 4 September 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 4 September 2023

Yesterday we went to their twilight Christmas experience (as we do every year) when we think it can’t get any better, somehow every year they make it even better than the time before!! ❤️ The animal team did you proud making the big barn into such a magical place to see the animals. The walk through Christmas experience had so many photo opportunities and you get the perfect amount of time to wander through, and never feel rushed which is exactly what you want to enjoy a Christmas experience. The snow machine & moving reindeer just add to the fun! We always have a laugh at the panto bit and Meeting Farmer Christmas himself is ALWAYS EPIC!!! Loved having the option to have the professional photos as well as our own this year. They were so good we brought the whole package 😁 The kids love having the option of gifts to choose from that magically comes down the chimney! The kids meals that comes with the ticket price was, as always, delicious & the hen house restaurant decorated fab as well. It makes for an all round magical Christmas experience which is why we return every year! The grown ups also love the mulled wine included in the entrance fee 🤭Wow, thank you for your excellent feedback on the magic we work hard to deliver. Our amazing team have loved every minute looking after you and all the families who have kindly visited. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and cherished New Year. Loved it! Old school farm with so much to do for kids of all ages and even adults! It was refreshing to go somewhere where you pay your entry ticket and can enjoy all the activities to offer without any extra costs. Up close and feeding the goats was so lovely, and all the staff are friendly and helpful.

My girls both love it here, they are 7 & 4! We have been coming since they were small! Always lots to do and fab friendly staff. The food in the cafe is reasonably priced, good quality and delicious. Animals at the farm are all well looked after, and their pens are always clean and tidy. There's lots of seating outside for picnics. It's a brilliant day out for all the family, we can't wait to come back again ✨

Was a lovely place all staff on the grounds where welcoming apart from the receptionist! Older lady was rude asked her a question about the Christmas activities that where going to happen on the park, and she rudely spoke to me like i was dumb “urr what do you mean Christmas activities” and then rolled her eyes! I don't feel happy returning after being greeted like this.

We apologise that our team member may have been clarifying your question between our Christmas events or our hands on animal activities timetable at Christmas.
Hopefully she was able to explain we start our Christmas events on the weekend of the 9th December and our animal activities timetable may not have been set yet according to the needs of the animals.
We are so sorry that you will not be returning and will chat to our team member.

Farmer Palmer's is a lovely day out. Lots of animals to see, most are happy to come to the fence to be stroked. Lots of activities on throughout the day, clean toilets.
Plenty of indoor and outdoor play space, so still enough to keep the children busy on a rainy day

I had visited 2 family farms in 2 days in the Hampshire/Dorset area, and Farmer Palmer's was the second one to visit....I could not help but make some comparisons
The noticeable difference was cost between Farmer Palmer's and Longdown activity farm
I paid £20 for a full day out of activities at Longdown, but Farmer Palmer's entry cost £36 for the same amount of people.
The costs at Farmer Palmer's did not stop there.....An extra £2.50 each for the morning tractor ride, £4 to pick a pumpkin and an extra £2.50 each for the afternoon deer safari.....an Extra £14 on top of admission fee
I spoke to a season ticket holder who felt that it feels more about making money than it does about the "family experience"
On the plus side, we did have a fantastic time at Farmer Palmer's, the staff made a massive effort for Halloween week and it was really good fun. The activities were really good and varied and my son really enjoyed himself
I could not help but think that at almost double the price, some of the costs could be absorbed by the entry fee, as Longdown manage tractor rides for no extra costs also

Thank you so much for your comments. We know and love Bryan at Longdown and understand that they are smaller attraction and will have smaller running costs as and have less undercover activities and do not have 70 employees.
That said we always pre visit mention the optional extras you can do and recommend if you arrive soon after 9.30 and stay till 5 you will see the value for money.

I'll start by saying it's cheaper to go to London zoo a carer ticket was £2 cheaper and disabled was £2 cheaper not very disabled friendly either not very much to see if im honest family of 3 cost £48 to see some chickens and goats the cafe was ok but expensive for what you got I wont return, nice friendly staff good location but not worth the price.

Sadly we are not a charity like the zoo, and we have to charge 20% VAT on every £1 we work hard to take. If all attractions were zero rated customers would be able to make fair comparisons.
Thank you for visiting us and the team will be pleased to know you enjoyed your day.

What is disabled/wheelchair access like?
fpfporganford
Poole, UK1 contribution
Hi Laura,
We have disabled parking, ramps, wide doorways and concrete or hard gravel tracks. Disabled friendly team
Once you pay to get in to the park is there anything inside that requires money to do i.e. The tractor ride or is it all included in the entrance fee
fpfporganford
Poole, UK1 contribution
Thank you so much for your question. Our Daily Activities page on our farmerpalmers web page
has the main timetable of events including our full list of free activities.
We have optional extras in addition to the admission price (which is comparitively reasonable with other attractions in the area).
The tractor ride is £1 per bottom on seat
At more popular times (weekends and school holidays) there are pony rides which are £3.00 per child/per go. Deer safari runs at £2.00 per person is during the same times.
All of the guineapig handling, trotter time, milking demo, lamb or goat feeding, pony grooming are free.
Hope this helps.

Do you allow dogs to your attraction?
fpfporganford
Poole, UK1 contribution
Sadly we do not allow dogs inside the Farm Park but we have two kennels which are solid wire construction and half shaded, place near trees, in the car park. They are secured with a padlock and you can come and go to check on your dog as often as you like during the day.
They are free and on a first come, first served basis.
Hope this helps
Is there anything to do at farmer palmers when it rains?
fpfporganford
Poole, UK1 contribution
Hi, thank you for enquiring and to our cutomers who have responded. The Little Farmer's Fun Barn, Indoor Soft Play, Pedal Tractors, an indoor bouncy castle and most of the animal events are indoors. The areas inbetween are concrete so wellies optional!
