An amazing museum, I was astounded at the long boat and its preservation! Museum is well presented and well worth a visit. The jewel in the crown is the cafe on the 3rd floor. Lovely coffee and the lady serving was very polite and helpful, will return again!

We have hired the room on floor 5 on a couple of occasions and will do so again. Every thing was as asked and went smoothly. Great place not only that but we visited the Museum afterwards and really enjoyed it. Lots to see and very well set out. Best for us is the Poole Pottery exhibition, pieces from the... More

To date there is only one negative review and it is clearly unfair and inappropriate given that it doesn't mention the museum at all but is evidently a complaint from the reviewers who walked into Scaplen's Court in the very late evening into a private wedding party which had hired the venue. They obviously didn't like being correctly asked to... More

Small, bright, informative & interesting museum. Varied exhibits on the local people, wildlife, industry, history & an Iron Age boat.

two free to enter venues just off the harbour quayside. Only small buildings right by each other but great to pass the odd hour or two

Great collection, friendly staff, nice cafe, the shop was OK but they could have more stock. The log boat greets you on the ground floor as exhibit one - absolutely great and well displayed

This is a very modern and welcoming museum just off the Quayside. There are lots of interesting exhibits of a largely local nature. This does not detract from its interest however. An all season, all weather free attraction and excellent for getting some local knowledge. Toilets and a cafe on site.

Interesting museum with lovely garden educational tours with Victorian cookery classes. An example of old Poole rich family home with school room.

Love this place. Really beautiful old building, and they put on some fab events. Lots of effort put in and it is mostly quite hands on. The only down side it that it is only open as specific times/dates so you can't just wonder in unless you're lucky!

I love this museum, it's small but really a interesting building and my 7 year old loved it too. If you have a spare hour, take a look. The garden in particular is amazing, it's perfectly tranquil even though the museum is located on a busy street near to the Quay.
