We went on the River Cruise to Wareham which was interesting with a lovely commentary from the boat skipper. The cruise allows an hour our so to explore Wareham of have a coffee/tea, etc.
The process was well managed but I do agree that to get a seat on the open, top deck, you need to queue well in advance on busy days which Greenslades needs to look into. When they know the trip will be busy, allocate top deck/lower deck seating, maybe? Our trip was not in school holidays or weekend but weather was good which prompted many people to book last minutes or rock up at the booth on the day. I would have been miffed if, having booked weeks in advance and taking a risk on the weather, not to have had a seat on the top deck.

We decided to venture to Poole for a boat trip around the islands & weren't disappointed.
Chose Greenslade as another company had long queue waiting for a boat and we didn't want to chance not getting an outside seat on top deck (turned out that was for Brownsea Island), plus crew dockside were a lot more friendly.
Crew of Jack & Jamie were friendly with a few witty comments thrown in during the commentary as we went across the harbour to Sandbanks, out briefly into the bay and then back around the islands.
As it turned out Greenslade were cheaper than other options, and on this occasion, cheapest may well have been best.

We went on the Wareham River cruise which was brilliant, great value for money, the crew are friendly and helpful. The commentary on the trip is perfect, just enough to let you know about the local area and what to look out for but also good to have some quiet times to to be able to enjoy the surroundings. Well done to the skipper on our trip who spotted the white tailed eagle and slowed the boat to give us the opportunity to see it, an absolute highlight of our holiday.
Would definitely recommend to add to your holiday to do list

We picked up the boat from the main Poole harbour area. It was easy to find and buy tickets. It was a warm sunny day so we sat on the upper deck. The seats are metal slats and Ok for the hour or so cruise. The ‘guide’ spoke very softly and had a difficult accent to understand. He didn’t say very much but repeated several times that Sandbanks is the most expensive street in the U.K. I think we would have been better just taking a cheaper trip on the Chain Ferry.

We had a lovely boat trip, the staff were friendly and the trip was full of beautiful scenery. Unfortunately I was more worried about being so close to everyone. They are limiting numbers on the boat and counting them on but with the beautiful weather it's obvious everyone will go to the upper deck. As i boarded I left a bench between the people behind and ourselves, but as the boat filled up every bench was filled. Each bench is only 2 feet in front of the other so regardless of whether we are outside or not it is not even in the slightest bit socially distanced.
We were sat in front of the loudest children I have ever met (thought mine were loud) and my kids were drawn to them throughout the whole journey.
The man doing commentary was a bit sporadic and sounded like he couldn't remember what to say quite a bit, or was just bored.
Unfortunately these factors completely ruined my experience.

Pre-booked 3 days in advance and was told we needed to get here 15minutes earlier to gain a seat on top. To get here 25 minutes earlier to a full top deck, a bit of advice get there 45minutes earlier, to not be disappointed. There should be a price difference for top and bottom deck, that will see people’s preferences change.

Telephoned to enquire about purchasing 2 gift vouchers for a cruise on the Wareham river as a Birthday present.
Was advised by Fiona to send an email and she would “get back to me”.
After sending 2 emails and leaving 3 voicemails I got no response whatsoever and booked with another company.
Very disappointed!
Have inserted fictitious “dates of trip” as cannot submit review without it.

My disabled son (who has Down's syndrome) and his carer were booked to go on a harbour cruise as a treat, and were treated rudely by a member of staff, which spoiled the cruise for them. When I wrote to Greenslade afterwards I received an insincere non-apology from Fiona Cope, followed by a dismissal of my complaint, effectively calling my son and his carer liars for objecting to the rude way in which they were treated. I think there is a need for (at least some of) the harbour cruise employees to undergo some customer training, or at least to learn some good manners, but given Fiona Cope's way of addressing my complaint I don't hold much hope for this. It was a great shame, as the cruise itself would otherwise have been a very happy experience. Unfortunately the memory of it has been marred by the rudeness of the Greenslade employee.

A last minute decision to purchase 2 tickets (£10 each) to go on a little voyage around Brownsea Island and surrounding islands. On a cool October afternoon we had a very pleasant trip with a very informative captain. All in all a very enjoyable trip which I found excellent value for money. Highly recommend.
