My first visit to Brownsea Island via ferry was very enjoyable but the return journey was a disappointment. Our party decided to catch the ferry that included a tour around the islands, with a running commentary of interesting facts. Unfortunately, the pilot of the ferry...More

Found these ferries excellent. Ferry leaves regularly so you don't have to wait very long for the next one. Only takes 20 minutes to get to Brownsea Island. Ferries run every half an hour. On the journey back we were taken around the islands and...More

Very short trip and quite expensive, but was fun and the chap helping everyone on and off the boat was very friendly.

Great way to get to Brownsea Island for a visit. But the boat trip in itself is extremely interesting with the return taking in the whole of the harbour with a very good commentary.

One of the only ways to get to Brownsea Island, the ferries offer an instructive and informative trip around the harbour where the crew give a running commentary on all things Poole. Well worth the cost of the ticket.

We took the ferry to Brownsea Island. This is an efficient service, operating every half hour, with a commentary provided of points of interest on the way to the island and on the return journey.

Cheaper ferry is from Sandbanks as it is a shorter crossing (£6.50 as I recall) Free access to island if you are a NT member.

As a NT member I would strongly recommend that you go from Sandbanks. Drive to South Haven Point (OS Map OL15 Ref:036867) via Wareham and Corfe then take the B3351. There is a NT car park at South Haven Point where you can... More

Quay Visitors Car Park Strand Street, Poole BH15 1SB Roughly £1 per hour so for £2 for a few hours should do it. Poole has many car parks but that is the safest and nearest.
