There were 18 of us from Selsey, West Sussex. We are getting a new Lifeboat here in Selsey and we all wanted to see our new boat being built. In the morning we had a tour of the Lifeboat College and Angela and Karen, our tour guides, were so friendly and knowledgeable. The simulator was an experience and a half!... More

A very interesting tour of the training collage and factory where the lifeboats are made and what happens there. From training crew members and coxswains in the life like simulator to the indoor training pool where inshore lifeboats can be capsized so the crews are trained how to escape safely and right the boat . Most situations can be recreated... More

As RNLI Offshore members it would have been very rude not to have at least called in while holidaying in the area. As it transpired we were on site most of the day, looking at the displays, browsing the shop and relaxing in the restaurant while waiting for the tour. Well worth the wait too, we are well aware of... More

Took a group of 42 there. Everyone enjoyed the experience and the RNLI Guides were very helpful and knowledgeable about the history of the college and the staggering cost of kitting out lifeboat crews and the cost of the boats. A great afternoon

I visited with a group of 26 from my local Probus club. After drinks and a delicious lunch in the circular restaurant overlooking Poole Harbour, we split into 2 groups for the 90 minute tour. This was most informative and gave us a fascinating insight into the history, organisation and operations of this unique charitable organisation. Highlights were a visit... More

An Excellent Tour of the college that is well worth the cost (free if you stay at the college) It gives you the insight that RNLI crews go through to reach the high standards that are required of them.

Great to see what the Crew have to go through and what goes into the running of the charity, Simulator amazing piece of technology and it does feel like you are moving, Would have liked to have a demonstration of the pool or its capabilities, Thought the walk and talk through of the Restaurant and Bar was maybe a waste... Great tour around building with very informative guide (Mark?). Very interesting to hear about the history/ financing/training and work of the Institution. Particularly enjoyed the pool and the simulator. We will be making a return visit soon to see the Lifeboat Construction Sheds.

A wonderful and very informative tour. It was an inspirational visit confirming, if any confirmation was needed, what a superb organisation the RNLI is. The tour was led by Chris joined later by Karen two very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful individuals.
