About
The Branksome Railway Hotel is a traditional English pub, built in 1894, with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. There are numerous draught lagers, ciders and real ales to choose from. The pub is dog friendly, child friendly, accommodating to live music and full of helpful staff. Come in and enjoy a very well looked after pint and see for yourself. (Children under 10 years of age must leave by 7pm. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.)

Saved the day!!
Jul 2021 • Friends
Arrived in Winton semi final day, pub we were supposed to be going was fully booked up. I called everywhere in the Bournemouth area for a last minute spot and no one could help. I called these guys up and by chance there was one table left! Not only did they hold the table for us, they were warm, welcoming and a great laugh. Atmosphere was amazing, service from Tony and the whole team was on point - fast and fair. Definitely better than the pub we originally planned to go, great spot. Definitely go back soon!

COME ON ENGLAND!!!!!

Scuzzy pub with some dodgy open-mic performers
Dec 2019
We went along on December 27th to see an open mic night. There were 2 bands with very talented young musicians. One, the Vienna Band, all looked around 16, while 'Off the Rails' had members as young as 12. They all played really well, and we enjoyed both bands. However, in the interval, a so-called 'poet' read 2 absolutely disgusting 'poems' with highly-explicit sexual content. These might have been acceptable in a working-mens' club, but he started by saying 'I hope there's no kids here', whilst looking at 3 members of 'Off the Rails' sitting on a sofa opposite. The landlady, who we understand encouraged this idiot, seemed to find the poems hilarious - the only person in the pub who did. We stayed to see the 2nd band, but we won't be going back.

Good location, wonderful building, awful pub.

Decent quality ale but a shockingly drab, scruffy local.
I think this place could be brilliant. C'mon Brewhouse and Kitchen, get in there!

Friendly

We have been visiting the pub with family and friends for years.
The beer choice is slim. The beer that’s on is good. Timothy Taylor is always good.
The football coverage gets us in. We watched a lot of the World Cup here. The atmosphere was great. Generally it is a very quiet pub. It is well worth the visit. The Irish family that runs it are very friendly.

Very friendly "LOCAL" pub (once you get to know a few people). Excellent real ales plus they serve wine by the glass or bottle (£10).Sky sports and BT are avialabe for all major sporting events. Free WI FI.

Great atmosphere although a little dark with the mood lighting, used to go here to read the papers now with my eyes a little difficult, Old fashioned Railway pub but welcoming with sociaiable locals, cannot comment on the Hotel although bar staff are always most attentive to guests
