About
Coastal Comedy is a regular stand-up comedy show of live entertainment in Bournemouth, and Poole in Dorset for over 18's. We offer a unique comedy experience bringing famous faces to the South West and offering live entertainment close up and personal in intimate venues. Plus in the big theatre at the Lighthouse in Poole with Coastal Comedy Colossal and big names. Coastal Comedy is a small independent business run by Adrienne who is a comic herself and has a passion for comedy and books the acts as well as promotes and hosts every show! Each line-up is hand picked to ensure the best fit for the audience and the most belly laughs. In our first year we reached the semi finals for 'Best Night Out' as part of the prestigious Bournemouth Tourism Awards, reached the finalist stage in 2017 and again became finalists for the 'Best Night Out' as part of the Bournemouth and Poole Tourism Awards 2018 (BAPTAs)! 2019 finds us Gold Winners of the 'Night Time Award' as part of the BH Star awards.

We always have such a great time at Coastal Comedy! It’s the first time we’ve been since they moved to Canvas, and we enjoyed it as much as we did Pre-covid. Adrienne is a brilliant host and all three acts made us laugh. It’s great value, around £12 for an early bird ticket.

Thanks for the Colossal Poole Lighthouse comedy evening 25/9/21. Sorry the other comedian couldn't get there (couldn't get fuel) but for us an unexpected treat to see Ian D Montford as well as Ivan Brackenbury! The compere and first act were good too but reason for visiting was to see Tom Binns live as we loved Hospital People on the TV and he certainly was even better with an audience and the interaction. I laughed so much my sides are still hurting wonderful evening!

Enjoyed a great night out at Coastal Comedy @The Lighthouse in Poole on Saturday night. The 3 acts were really funny, haven't laughed so much in ages, and the compere Adrienne Coles is a laugh a minute and did a great job warming the audience up. Can't wait to go back again soon. Highly recommend.

If you like laughing then you’re guaranteed to enjoy! Real live humans being funny- what’s not to like? Cheaper than the cinema, same price as a couple of drinks for a full evening’s entertainment. We went to one of the outdoor gigs at Bournemouth Electric Club. Plenty of parking nearby, another pub across the road for before/after... The outdoor part of the venue was great! Good bar, handy, inexpensive food truck with tasty snacks... service from the club was a little haphazard to begin with, but worked out once they got up and running! Adrienne is a brilliant compere, and the two acts were ace! Wayne the Weird was an especially funny surprise, and very clever :). Being outdoors in a residential area, it’s not a late night, and it’s pretty ‘clean’ too, so unlikely to offend anyone. Give it a try!

This was such a fabulous night of comedy at madding Crowd . Loved all 3 acts . All different . Headline was changed last minute but we totally lucked out Seeing Simon b (aka lee nelson) was icing on the cake . All 3 acts made me laugh out loud. Fab compere holds all the acts together and you feel in safe hands ( Adrienne) Thanks for a very welcome night out - another fab night of comedy - highly recommend.

Every single one of the acts that appear at the venue are 1st class at entertaining the audience and knowing they have had value for money and a great night out.

The night is split into three acts, all three with level placing on the bill. The host Adrienne gets everybody warmed up and gets the audience excited to welcome the acts onto the stage.

After each act, except the last, there is a break to refill glasses and have a pit stop. There are chances to win tickets to the next show by either raffle tickets (all for a worthy cause) or writing a joke and winner is best judged by audience reaction.

Personally I look forward every month to Coastal Comedy, and was at a loss during the lockdown (thanks for Comedy at the Cabin) and am now pleased that its coming back.

You will not be let down but you will be pleased that you did go and see the show.

The Lighthouse in Poole holds regular stand up comedy events in a small intimate theatre holding approximately 150 people. Coastal Comedy also has another venue within Bournemouth Pavilion which is slightly bigger. The evening is usually compared by a female comedian who does her own routine between introducing the three acts that are performing. The show usually starts with a new up and coming comedian, gaining vital experience. The second is likely to be a more experienced regular, often experimenting with new untried material.. The final act referred to as The Headliner, is often a highly experienced professional, who has appeared at all the famous comedy clubs in London, and also on national television.. Tickets are reasonably priced at around £15 and the show lasts a couple of hours. A good evening out.
