I thought the museum tells the story about the birth of railways extremely well. There is some repetition of information, but other than that it covers the early days and development of railways, and those in the area, very well.

The best part about the museum is being able to get back in after it closed due to the Pandemic. Booking a time slot online is essential, and all the usual keeping your distance and hand sanitiser requirements apply. Being based in Darlington, the famous railway town, there is lots to see about the local history. Every so often there is an exhibition with more detail about the local history. The current one is about the origin of street names in Darlington. It's well worth a visit, and it will no doubt feature well in 2025 as part of the celebrations of the birth of steam passenger railways.…
