Darlington Hippodrome (formerly Darlington Civic Theatre) re-opened in November 2017 after a £13.7m restoration. The Hippo Lounge cafe bar and three free gallery spaces are open from 10am each day (excluding Sundays).

With any refurbishment I was a little worried that this beautiful historic building would be scarred with too many modern features. I'm so pleased to report that it has been tastefully done.

Booked seats for a show new seating has now plenty leg room the audio speakers sounded good lighting spot on. Went to the new bar upstairs great staff not much more to other than I think the whole venue is much better than before.
