The car park is currently free although busy. On a clear day the lake and woodlands are beautiful. The walk around the lake is about a mile so social distancing is quite possible. The walk is suitable for all ages and with dogs. There are several cafes next to the lake.

Newmillerdam is a lovely place to spend a couple of hours walking. There is a circular walk round the dam with various woodland paths leading off. Sturdy shoes are recommended in winter as it can be a bit muddy in places. Cycling is not allowed so it is safe for children to roam. Highly recommend.

We love going to Newmillerdam and walking around the perimeter with our dog off the lead as it is much quieter than the lakeside

Needed to get out of the house with the children and have not visited in years. On arriving the car park was very busy, but timed it well as someone was just leaving. Walked around the lake, the path is wide enough for people to socially distance and had a real sense that everyone was respecting each others space so we felt very safe. So much wildlife, swans, moor hens and ducks for the kids to see. Cheeky ice cream on the way back to the car

Been coming here for years & always enjoy the experience, visited a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday with my husband and son. The only downside is that the car park is always very busy at weekends, you often have to wait for someone leaving to get a space. However it's worth it to have a pleasant stroll around the lake amongst the beautiful woods, the path is wide enough to socially distance at the moment & everyone seems to understand how to behave. A much nicer walk than round Pugneys nearby we think. We finished off a lovely afternoon with a gorgeous meal at the Fox & Hounds across the road, we would recommend both Newmillerdam & the pub.
